Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for major Australian TAB meetings on December 16.

Meetings across Australia are today held at Kempsey and Bathurst.

BATHURST: RACE 6 @ 5:05PM

Cat Walk Queen to control the tempo. TALE OF THE KRAUT (3) resumed in a 1200m Class 2 Highway at Rosehill last start and did a good job to hold onto 3rd after racing up on the speed throughout. Back in grade today and her only win came over this course and distance towards the end of last prep. Hard to toss. FIRST LADY (2) got too far back but made some late inroads to finish midfield when resuming over this distance at Canberra last time out. Her only win came second up so expect sharp improvement. ATHENA'S LAD (1) came with a well-timed run to score from a subsequent 6-lengths winner when making her debut over 1300m at Narromine recently. Hard to ignore off the back of that performance. KIMMYLEE (4) was an eye-catching 3rd over 1200m at Kembla last start following a comfortable win on debut at Canberra. Big threat in this company although too short in early markets. SELECTIONS: #3 Tale Of The Kraut is tremendous value in early markets. Straight-out.

KEMPSEY: RACE 7 @ 5:20PM

Edea from a wide gate will spear over and lead. POWER OF WEXFORD (3) looks one of the better bets on the card. Resumed over 1280m at Muswellbrook last start and really caught the eye, flashing home and just missing out in a three-way drive to the line. Improved by that hit out and will appreciate the step up in distance. I'LL TAKE MONEY (8) enjoyed getting over a bit more ground last time when a closing 3rd over 1257m at Taree. Will be nearing her peak third up and on the limit makes plenty of appeal. I'VE GOT THIS (7) has been just behind the placegetters at his last few over longer trips. Looking for sharp improvement coming back a little in distance. OAKFIELD JET (6) can improve third up today with blinkers on from the inside stall. SELECTIONS: Load up on #3 Power Of Wexford.
