Canterbury: Race 5 @ 8.15pm

Just a small field but speed to burn from Echo Jet, Fuel and Inquiry. ECHO JET (1) led and gave a great sight when beaten 1.1 lengths into 3rd place in Saturday company over 1200m at Rosehill two runs back. Tired at the end of 1400m last time in a run worth overlooking. Has won 4/9 at this trip and back in midweek company looks a huge chance to return to the winner's list. ISLAND MISSILE (6) is the danger first up after a four-month spell. Doesn't always fire when fresh but a recent 6-lengths trial win suggests he is very forward. Black-type placegetter so has the quality to compete. HANDFAST (5) took control before the corner then kept going for a strong win over this course and distance five weeks ago. Veteran sprinter who cannot be ruled out. INQUIRY (3) ran a good race in open company at Scone recently. Should be very competitive at this level. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #1 Echo Jet.

Gatton: Race 6 @ 6.22pm (AEDT)

MASTER BAYLEE (3) improved plenty at his second outing this campaign when a 1.6L third at Sunshine Coast. Should be better again third up and the extra 100m suits. Eases back in grade and gets the claim to help offset the big weight. SOLID ASSET (4) hit the line hard to score a win at this course and distance last start. Stays in the same grade and rates highly again. GENG (10) was third to race rival Solid Asset two back and has some claims with luck from the wide gate. LEROY ROCKS (13) went close last time and is in the mix. SELECTION: #3 Master Baylee to peak and win third up.

Cranbourne: Race 7 @ 9.30pm

Could be a good contest for the early lead between The Commoner and Heavenly Bridges. SUKOSHI (12) went alright at Sandown last start and on that form should be right up to winning here. MOONLIGHT RUBY (3) comes back from Moonee Valley Friday night racing and goes ok at this stage of a prep. BEL'S BANNER (10) will be running on late. SELECTION: Suspect #12 Sukoshi is ready third up. Back accordingly.
