Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on January 27.
Warwick Farm: Race 1 @ 1:20pm
HULK (7) resumed in the rich Magic Millions maiden on the Gold Coast last start over 1200m and was strong late but found one better. Might lay claim to being the best maiden in NSW but that should change today. FAVRA (4) resumes following a bright maiden campaign that saw three placings from four starts. Placed in a recent Rosehill trial so looks set to run well. GARRISON (5) has been well supported at both runs this prep but disappointed on each occasion. Might have been too keen with blinkers on last time. Worth one more chance with the gear removed and Hughie to ride. QUIET RIOT (9) is a well-bred debutante with a string of trial wins to his name. Sure to run well. SUGGESTED PLAY: #7 Hulk to finally break through.

Grafton: Race 6 @4:04pm
PLONKA (8) is a promising sprinter returning from a brief spell. Last appeared when he convincingly scored in a 1200m Highway at Rosehill on 2 November. Won a recent Taree trial by a big space. Big chance down on the limit. GENERAL NELSON (5) dashed clear the just held on over this distance at Ballina recently. Stepping up in class today but has an outstanding record at this trip and will give them something to catch. SHE'S CHOOSIE (4) has won two in a row in open company sprints. The winçer of 5/6 at five furlongs so from gate one today is very hard to make a case against. ALL STAND (2) won a similar race at Muswellbrook last start and has to go in the numbers again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Like #8 Plonka first up.
Sandown: Race 7 @ 4:40pm
WHAM (13) finished off strongly when beaten 0.9 lengths last time here. Winning chance with the blinkers on. THUNDERDOME (12) closed off nicely when beaten 1.4 lengths last time at Caulfield. Each way chance and also has the blinkers added. THE CARD PLAYERS (6) could be ready to improve out to this distance third up. BANGER (9) worth keeping safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Wham the one to beat.
Bordertown: Race 6 @4:21pm
PASS THE GLASS (3) ran seventh last start at Murray Bridge over 2000m when beaten 2.75 lengths. This easier and unbeaten here in two runs. She should be right in this. MISTA HOLYFIELD (2) produced a strong effort when winning by 1.5 lengths last run at Penola. Goes well here and can go on with it. IMPULSE DIAVOLO (4) ran in the middle of the pack last start at Murray Bridge. Is up in trip today, could contest. DISCO REBEL (6) can do better than last start at Warrnambool and can contest today. ATHOS (10) has claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Like Pass The Glass.
