Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on January 28.
Four TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Tuesday at Goulburn, Tamworth, Benalla & Rockhampton.
Goulburn: Race 1 @ 1:50pm
Plenty of speed in this, headed by Show Tickets and Lucid Dreamer. NEW DAY (7) has been racing well at the provincials all prep and is the one to beat in an easier maiden today. Raced wide without cover and did a good job to be beaten under 2 lengths over this distance at Gosford last start. Blinkers on - looks the winner. CONTANGO (2) was never in the hunt first up over 1100m at Gosford behind an Autumn Carnival contender in Acumen. Strips fitter and like the top pick finds a far easier race. SHOW TICKETS (10) resumes for Robert and Luke Price after a couple of fair runs in the maiden campaign under Kris Lees. Trialled well at Kembla recently so cannot be taken lightly. MAKE AN OFFER (1) won a recent Hawkesbury trial and is open to improvement. SELECTIONS: Race in two. Back #7 New Day to win at the better odds.

Benalla: Race 2 at 2:00pm
The early pace is questionable. TREVI DREAMS (9) wins this at best and go on the 4.7L Maiden win on resumption. The two runs last campaign read extra well and he has a low draw and the blinkers first time. BUCHAN HOAKS (1) has gone close a couple of times and hit the line okay 9 days ago. Draws the rail and can sit handy. COOP'S STAR (6) gets the blinkers first time and can make quick improvement for a leading yard. TIDES OF JUPITER (5) was tracking well before a heavy track fail. Expect a bounce with better conditions. SELECTIONS: # 9 Trevi Dreams gets his chance for a leading yard.
Tamworth: Race 2 @ 2:50pm
Chick In Charge and Bullet Lad will lock horns early. LEXI'S CHOICE (8) didn't shirk her task in the run home when 6th in a Bm70 at Warwick Farm last start over this distance. Massive class drop today - a similar run to the one at the Farm will be enough. GEEGEEAYE (2) hit top gear in the final furlong to get up for 3rd over 1600m at Gunnedah last time out. Has placed at this trip before and will be peaking fourth up from a spell. BULLET LAD (1) led but compounded over the mile at this track recently. That run came following a six-week break so can improve. SOUTH BEND (4) also knocked up last start after leading over 2012m at Port Macquarie. Each-way chance in a race of very few chances. SELECTIONS: #8 Lexi's Choice to win.
Rockhampton: Race 3 @ 4:25pm
Not clear-cut who leads. STEELZ TIME (8) placed first-up at the Sunshine Coast and is a second-up winner with more up the sleeve. This looks his race. FASTNET LATINA (6) resumes owning a big trial win. His Victorian figures make good reading, but he hasn’t won for a long time. Watch the market closely. CAVELLTON (3) didn’t get into it resuming at the Gold Coast seeking the hat-trick off wins here. Is capable at best and can make quick improvement. DAUNTING QUEEN (5) was also looking for the hat-trick resuming at the Gold Coast and didn’t miss by far. She won’t be far away. SELECTIONS: #8 Steelz Time has the figures to win.
