Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 1st February 2020

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at metropolitan TAB meetings for February 1.

Randwick: Race 7 @ 4.30pm

KOLDING (1) resumes. Has a superb and lucrative spring campaign which returned wins in both the Epsom Handicap and the inaugural Golden Eagle. Has been beaten just once in eight career starts since being gelded and that came when luckless in a white hot Tramway Stakes. Track and distance stats both excellent. Will improve as the autumn progresses however class alone should get him a long way here. ALIZEE (5) also resumes. Has won four of her five first up outings. Classy mare who is well in under Weight For Age conditions. STANDOUT (9) resumes after a strong four start maiden prep which included a victory in the Heritage Stakes. Readied for this with two trials. Looks a highly promising sprint prospect. IRITHEA (7) and VEGADAZE (4) are value plays at double figure odds. SELECTION: Going with the class of #1 Kolding.

Eagle Farm: Race 6 @ 4.42pm (AEDT)

IMPASSE (2) was an eye catcher first up when he ran on strongly from near the tail for second at this course. Suited up in distance having already won four times at the trip. Proven second up and could be hard to hold out. TOKORIKI LAD (5) enjoys a big drop in grade after taking on rich races at his past two outings. Race fit fourth up and this class suits him much better. THE TAX ACCOUNTANT (10) is closing in on a win after placing at his past two starts. Race fit and rates among the chances. RED DOULTON (9) was a close second here last time on the back of a Sunshine Coast win. Contender. QUEEN OF KINGSTON (4) has been close up at her past couple. Has each way appeal. SELECTION: #2 Impasse caught the eye first up. Can win up in trip.

Fabric.

Caulfield: Race 9 @ 5.30pm

FABRIC (6) ran well first up in a high-pressure race. That can quickly bring her up to her peak and it may suit her better to be drawn out this time after having to wait on a run at a key stage from a low draw fresh. Best is good enough for this. POWER DREAM (4) comes off a win at Flemington and looks to roll forward into a great spot here. Hard to beat from where she looks sure to land. Drop in trip suits KEN'S DREAM (1) and he might be the one to add some spice to multiples while NEVER AGAIN (2) keeps turning up and giving a good account. She can run well. SELECTION: #6 Fabric has a nice set up now.

Morphettville: Race 8 @ 5.41pm (AEDT)

WESTPORT (5) will not be one of those speedsters. She ran against the good fillies in the Spring. Several of those runs were more than adequate. Will love it if there is rain around. ENIGMAN (2) has changed stables and they can be dangerous. Can be sitting just off the pace. THOMPSON'S REWARD (10) is always around the mark. He can be placed again. ATOMIC LOKADE (8) can't be knocked as a winner. This is tougher now. SELECTION: Keen on #5 Westport.

Ascot: Race 7 @ 7.10pm (AEDT)

INSPIRATIONAL GIRL (7) resumed from a 31-week spell and had her colours lowered for the first time last start, flashing home late but just missing out over 1400m. Bred to relish this sort of trip - she is nicely placed to bounce back to winning form. DICKOLETTO (2) led but couldn't hold out the in-form Coming Around last start over 1400m at this track. Better placed out to this trip and looks well in after the allowance. Overdue. PATRISTIC (1) made it three in a row when he led all the way and toyed with his rivals over 1600m here a fortnight ago. Is a winner at this trip - an addition to the picket fence is on the cards. GO CRYING (4) made late inroads to finish 5th when resuming over 1400m here recently. Capable of sharp improvement. Last start Pinjarra winner MERIVALE MISS (8) has each-way claims. SELECTIONS: #7 Inspirational Girl for the win.
