Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on February 5.

Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Kensington, Ararat, Bendigo, Kilcoy, Geraldton & Murray Bridge. 

Randwick-Kensington: Race 3 @ 3:30pm

Kuzco Lad will capitalise on the good gate and lead. SEA OF LIFE (1) returned from an eight-month spell and made it three minor placings from as many starts, charging home from last on the corner to miss by a whisker over 1250m at Canterbury. Finished 3rd to subsequent G1 winner Prince Fawaz over this trip second up last prep. The one to beat. CALIFORNIA AUGUST (2) was shuffled back to near last then launched late to get up for an impressive 2nd over this journey at Warwick Farm last time out. Consistent gelding who will be very hard to hold out. DANCING GIDGET (6) raced near the speed and battled on well for 2nd when resuming over 1250m at Canterbury recently. Lightly raced filly with plenty of scope for improvement. KINSHIP (5) has been just off the placegetters at both starts. In the mix again. SELECTIONS: Keen on #1 Sea Of Life.

Murray Bridge: Race 4 @ 4:00pm

It’s not clear-cut who will make the speed. REGAL CROWN (8) missed a lip on debut hitting the line well. Ran the best figure presenting here and will take beating with the extra fitness. GOLDEN SNITCH (10) chased well placing on debut and is well-bred. The gate is tricky but the claim is handy. GOLDEN ZOU (7) will be better for the distant first-up placing and the longer trip is likely to suit. LEANNA BELLE (11) wasn’t far away in the same race and also has claims. SELECTIONS: #8 Regal Crown looks a reasonable bet on a tricky card.

Bendigo: Race 4 @ 4:50pm

Court Painter may be the one to make the pace over the staying trip. FLYING MR DAVIS (3) missed a lip at the middle distance and then just found one better up to this trip. Peaks now and is clearly the one they have to beat. ST ARNICCA (7) was okay placing in the same race and is racing well. Looks the danger if the above disappoints. CAPECAIN (8) was better the latest and likely to appreciate the longer journey. Some hope. EASTON YOU BEAUTY (2) next best with the claim, building on the Geelong placing. SELECTIONS: #3 Flying Mr Davis will be short but has a clear edge.
