Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on February 14.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Canterbury, Scone, Donald, Moonee Valley & Darwin.
Canterbury: Race 5 @ 8:15pm
Nordic Lover from a good gate will set the tempo. THINK IT OVER (4) was a real eye-catcher first up over 1400m at Warwick Farm, spotting the leaders 5 lengths on the corner before flashing home to be beaten a neck. The track favoured on-pacers that day to add to the merit of the performance. Perfectly placed over a bit more ground this evening and can go one better. ZIDANE (11) worked home late in the piece to clock-in just 1.7 lengths from the winner over this course and distance last start. Fitter for three runs back and kept a bit fresh for this. Looks the logical danger. MONEGAL (1) was heavily supported before running on strongly to win the rich Bega Cup at the Sapphire Coast last start over the mile. Still has improvement to come at his fourth run back. RINVIATA (8) is racing well and in a race decimated with scratchings comes into contention for a minor prize. SELECTIONS: Keen on #4 Think It Over.

Donald: Race 8 @ 5:00pm
May Be Fate may lead. DUECOURSE (6) won at this level easily four runs back and has been knocking on the door since. Will find this easier than the last two at Warrnambool and gets another chance with Yendall reunited. MAY BE FATE (2) resumed as favourite in much stronger in town and pulled up with an issue after a tough run. Is back after 37 days and expect quick improvement. FAST PLAN (1) never got into it resuming at Sandown but is 2/3 second-up and can make sharp improvement. SELECTION: Not the easiest program to label a good thing. SELECTIONS: #6 Duecourse rates well in the last and at the time of writing can be backed each way.
Scone: Race 7 @ 5:35pm
Manno is likely to take up the running at a genuine gallop. MANNO (6) led and gave a kick only to be swamped close to home and finish 4th over 1280m at Muswellbrook recently. Very fit after three runs back from a spell. Worth noting that he won his maiden over this course and distance last time in work. The one to beat with Ryan taking over. DREAM SUCCESS (8) was too bad to be true last start. Form before that was okay including a solid midfield finish in a Class 2 over this course and distance three runs back. Worth another chance out of the inside stall. WHONICKED DE LOLLY (10) made good late ground at the end of 1000m at Tamworth recently. Worth considering with the step up in distance. IN A SPRING (11) has each-way claims second up. SELECTIONS: #6 Manno to win the last.
Mooney Valley: Race 8 @ 10:00pm
Mellors can lead from the rail. POLANCO (11) improved again beaten a half length at Caulfield in stronger. Motored the last 200m and the mile looks ideal. Needs a good ride but he’s promising and a decent winning proposition. MELLORS (9) rates well on the Pakenham win this trip and keeps getting better. He’s going to get the run of the race and is a genuine chance. EGYPTIAN GOLD (6) resumes and has strong figures over a middle distance. The yard is going well and he can't be ruled out. SELECTIONS: Looks a two horse go. #11 Polanco to win, #9 Mellors the saver/quinella.
