Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Kensington, Sandown, Stawell, Doomben, Ascot & Strathalbyn.

Randwick-Kensington: Race 3 @ 2:55pm

Betty Blooms can lead in a race that lacks genuine early tempo. BETTY BLOOMS (6) had a torrid run last start over this trip at Warwick Farm and it might be best to forget the result. Very fit third up today - beat the handy Hamogany in a ding-dong battle third up last prep. Should get a nice time up front and is a winning chance at nice odds. HIGH LOW BET (2) did a good job to close hard and run down a noted mudlark in Dio D'oro last Wednesday over this distance at Warwick Farm. Only fourth up today so there is room for improvement - a wetter track would have helped though. MOANA JEWEL (3) was second up and coming off a one-month layoff when runner-up over 1250m at Canterbury last time out. Fitter for that run and will be more effective over this trip. COMPATRIOT (5) made up a lot of ground to finish 2nd over 1200m at Gosford recently. Must be respected getting out to this trip for the first time. SELECTIONS: #6 Betty Blooms is excellent value.

Strathalbyn: Race 5 @ 3:35pm

Igitur can lead from Fulton Street and Big Call. BIG CALL (7) had no luck at Penola and then was heavily-backed winning the BM58 here from the speed. Gets the claim and draws to control the race. Races well at the mile and can win again. IGITUR (2) kept improving before leading and finding the middle distance too much of a challenge in Open grade. Draws well and is capable of a bounce back to the mile. FULTON STREET (1) also runs along and best to forgive the latest. Draws low with a 3kg claim and won’t be far away. SELECTIONS: A good little race but #7 Big Call appeals most and is a value play at the current $3.70.

Stawell: Race 8 @ 5:00pm

Torreciuda a likely leader and they should run along okay. NOW AND FOREVER (3) got close at Donald making sharp improvement and gets a 3kg claim today. She rates well and is a winning hope on the 5-day return. WYNSOME MAID (5) also resumes and was good at the back of the first campaign. She will have come on and can use the rail. THE OLD BIRD (10) was busting the win before a plain effort at Ararat. Gets the blinkers first time and the handy claim and is capable of turning things around. MAKE MINE HENNESSY (8) returned in good order for the new yard and can improve quickly off that. SELECTIONS: #3 Now And Forever looks a betting proposition at the each way quote.

Sandown: Race 7 @ 7:00pm

Grand Crown can lead. PETRUCHIO (7) came back a bit in grade and won by a space at Pakenham as favourite. He’s promising and can repeat following a brief freshen. GRAND CROWN (1) won the Sale BM70 by 3L from the front and draws low with a handy claim. In a top yard and is sure to be hard to beat. SEBERATE (4) is knocking on the door and also gets a handy claim. He won’t be far away with a good ride. MORTAR PLATOON (2) has been well-travelled and gets the rail, 3kg claim and blinkers first time. He's worth consideration back in grade.  SELECTIONS: A good contest, but picking #7 Petruchio has an edge.
