Eight TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Canterbury (night), Scone, Sale, Moonee Valley (night), Sunshine Coast, Warwick, Narrogin & Canberra.

Canberra: Race 5 @ 4:40pm

Baracus and Bullet Storm will be prominent from the get-go. FIRST CROWN (5) brought strong form to his win here and then raced in stronger than this at Newcastle fading late. He’s at peak now and expect the Sydney galloper to take plenty of beating with winning rider Penza sticking. BULLET STORM (3) is feared building on the solid resumption at Kembla as favourite in better grade. Has strong figures and is a second-up winner. Gets Hyeronimus who will give him every chance using the rail gate. BUZZ 'N' JOE (6) won the Maiden well on resumption and then was wide improving again at Kembla in stronger than this. Has had a 45 day freshen and note he’s Magorrian’s only ride for the day. He’s a chance. BARACUS (2) is a Team Snowden stablemate to the top selection and is sure to have his admirers bringing Victorian form. Has been racing on wet tracks and is likely to improve on a dryer deck. IDEE (12) did nothing resuming but has competitive figures and the stable is known for springing the odd surprise. SELECTIONS: Competitive, but #5 First Crown appeals at a healthy each way quote.

Scone: Race 7 @ 4:55pm

Mister Smartee and Redemption Road will have plenty of time to work over from wide gates and take up the running at a genuine clip. REDEMPTION ROAD (8) was coming off a 37-day break and it told in the final stages when he tired to finish 3rd on a heavy track in the 1440m Walcha Cup last start. Fitter for that run and drops a kilo with a senior rider aboard today. Ready to win. HAMMOON BALLAD (9) drove hard through the final 100m to just get the verdict in the Walcha Cup last time out. Consistent mare who has won 3/7 at the mile so she could very easily make it a Cups double. TIME RAID (5) won over 1412m at Taree two runs back then struggled in town last time. Better placed in this company so can bounce back. NOTHING TOO HARD (13) returned from a 37-day let-up with an eye-catching 2nd over 1500m at Newcastle last start. Up in grade today and doesn't win too often - each-way is the sensible play. SELECTIONS: Like #8 Redemption Road at attractive each-way odds.

Sale: Race 8 @ 5:00pm

El Magnificence, Black Opal, Groot and Almighty Will should all be prominent from the jump. GROOT (4) runs along and has placed his last two in better grade. He gets the handy claim and has the speed to manage the wide draw. Peaks and is the one they have to beat. BLACK OPAL (1) is improving and also finds easier off the latest when he was good after a tough run. He will race handy and will get his chance. PRELIMINAIRES (10) was tracking well before the latest and deserves some consideration along with PRINCESS KAYO (16) resuming for a good yard with a senior hoop up. SELECTIONS: #4 Groot peaks and has upside.

Canterbury: Race 2 @ 6:45pm

A messy one to map without a noted pace runner engaged. ASTRALIS (4) did a bit wrong but still worked home well for 2nd when resuming on a heavy track over this course and distance a fortnight ago. Fitter for that run and the blinkers on this evening is a key gear change. Ready to win. CATHARS (2) has been freshened up since flashing home into 3rd place over this course and distance a month ago. Subsequent trial winner so expect he can progress from that effort. Big threat from a nice gate. GOOD STOCK (3) has not raced since failing at his only race start back in September. Has trialled in good style over 1040m a couple of times recently so he will be forward enough to run a better race this time. Watch for market support. SERAGLIO (10) was battered from pillar to post on debut last start. Can improve sharply. SELECTIONS: #4 Astralis to win.

Sunshine Coast: Race 6 @ 7:50pm

Will run along in this. WEBOUGHTAZOU (3) gets his chance. He's been around the mark all preparation. Led and battled on well to be beaten a length by Goodonya Sonja at Doomben last start. Beaten favourite here prior to that in a race which has produced three subsequent winners. Trainer on fire. He's the one to beat with even luck. SEQUABLUR (6) stuck his nose out where it counted to win at the Gold Coast on resumption. Will improve out of that. Can measure-up. GREAT KEPPELL (5) is a consistent type. Prepped up well for this off two trials. Versatile in where he settles. Will have admirers. YEAHNAH (9) best of the remainder. SELECTIONS: Weboughtazou for the win.
