Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on February 26.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Newcastle, Kilmore, Pakenham, Rockhampton & Bunbury.
Newcastle-Beaumont: Race 3 @ 2:25pm
A race devoid of early pace on paper. FAVRA (5) was impossible to miss when resuming over 1100m at Warwick Farm last start, charging home from last on the turn to be beaten a neck despite shifting in badly. Fitter for that run and back at the provincials over a bit more ground looks the winner. GOGOL (6) has enjoyed a seven-week let up since finishing a close 5th over 1200m at Warwick Farm on 8 January. Trialled twice since so won't have gone backwards fitness-wise. The logical threat. CHANTING (9) started favourite and looked a shade unlucky when a close 6th over this trip at Wyong 53 days ago. Has also trialled a couple of times since to keep things ticking over. RED HOT CHILLYPINS (8) resumes. Showed glimpses of ability in her maiden campaign. Each-way. SELECTIONS: Confident win bet on #5 Favra.

Kilmore: Race 5 @ 3:30pm
Sublime Miss, Go Ferrando and Press Release will all race handy. SUBLIME MISS (5) led and won the Maiden easily heavily-backed at the mile and impressed. In a top yard and this looks a suitable progression fourth up. DIVINE ATTRACTION (6) is also a last start Maiden winner and that stacks up. Well seasoned, but needs a good Rawiller ride from the wide gate. TIDES OF JUPITER (1) won the Maiden by a space and then was wide and found it a struggle at Moonee Valley in stronger. Draws well and just has to see out the extra trip to be a player. PRESS RELEASE (9) is going well and is in the mix. SELECTIONS: #5 Sublime Miss can take the next step.
Pakenham: Race 3 @ 7:00pm
Early speed across the barriers with Alphaville and Carlos among the most prominent. CARLOS (4) missed a lip here two weeks ago improving again. Draws to run along and looks hard to beat. SAINT EUSTACE (8) resumes as a gelding and has trialled well. Will race over further, but gets the rail and no surprise if he’s more forward this time around. ALPHAVILLE (2) went a good race on debut and resumes owning two solid trials. Gets a tricky gate, but a bold run is on the cards. ALPHAVILLE (2) and MEDIATED (7) also deserve consideration. SELECTIONS: #4 Carlos rates highly and this is his chance.
