Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on March 4.
Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Kensington, Flemington, Doomben, Bunbury, Murray Bridge & Hobart.
Randwick-Kensington: Race 8 @ 5:40pm
Witherspoon will whip across from a wide gate to lead. DEFERENCE (4) showed pace to the corner then chased home the very talented Splintex over this distance at Rosehill Saturday week ago, clocking-in 2nd. Draws well, back in class, and is ready to peak third up from a spell. WITHERSPOON (1) showed pace to the turn but dropped out over 1000m at Randwick 53 days ago. Led all the way to record a comfortable win over five furlongs here the run before. Big chance if left alone in front. STAR CROSSED (6) is a threat first up from a 29-week break. Boasts excellent first up form and a recent trial win will have him screwed right down. MAROCH (7) was most impressive first up over 1000m at this circuit. Will be savaging the line again. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #4 Deference.

Doomben: Race 4 @ 4.15pm (AEDT)
OCEAN WAVES (2) has been improving with recent racing, culminating in a win at Sunshine Coast last start. Stepping up in trip but expecting it to suit. Can go on with it. COASTAL PRINCE (6) was a Beaudesert winner two back and all four career wins have come at this distance. May be able to dictate and that would see him hard to catch. COUNTESS DE GALVEZ (3) drops in grade off a Country Championships Qualifier. This suits her better third up. DANTE ROSSETTI (4) has a couple of recent wins on the board and placed last time. Consider. LE DUDE (1) rates an each way chance. SELECTIONS: #2 Ocean Waves to go back to back.
Murray Bridge: Race 6 @ 4:55pm
La Maestra can lead from Miami Freedom, Wing Snipper and Exalted Gold. MIAMI FREEDOM (5) has won two of the last three and did it by a space at The Parks 11 days ago. Peaks the same grade with the handy claim and can win again. LA MAESTRA (3) is over from Victoria and is fast. Will find this a lot easier than Sandown and the 3kg claimer comes to ride. YANKEE LOU (2) resumes off stronger races and has placed 2/2 fresh. He’s well-placed with the 3kg claim and keep safe. HUSSLIN HUMPH (4) resumes and has won first-up. Draws low and will be competitive. SELECTIONS: #5 Miami Freedom looks the bet at the $5.0 currently available.
Hobart: Race 8 @ 5:00pm (AEDT)
Alfred Street may be the one to lead. UBER ED (1) won at this level four runs back and has been busting to win in stronger grade since. He will get the run-of-the-race and multiple winning jockey Pires is reunited. Clearly the one to beat. ROUGH ROAD (2) has gone close the last three and they stack up. He could prove the danger with the 3kg weight drop. CORONATION PIA (5) is also a player building on the first-up near miss, running her best race. ALFRED STREET (4) flopped the latest and best to go on the close-up effort prior. Comes in well at the weights. SELECTIONS: Looks the right race for #1 Uber Ed.
Flemington: Race 6 @ 5:50pm
Pierrless will run along with Scottish Rogue and Clarice Cliffs. WHAM (5) seeks the hat-trick and has been winning by spaces. Still looks well-placed and can storm over the top of them again. JUMBO OZAKI (15) gets the weight drop following the first up placing and has had a freshen. He’s right up to this and will get every opportunity to produce his best, running along for Williams. PIERRLESS (7) made the hat-trick comfortably at The Valley and then just missed in stronger than this. Has to come back in trip but has been freshened and no surprise if she makes the finish at good odds. CLARICE CLIFFS (6) peaks and is a speedy galloper who won’t be far away again. SHOKORA (4) will be fitter and is an include at odds. SELECTIONS: #5 Wham can keep the roll going.
