Australian thoroughbred meetings are today conducted at Tamworth, Canberra, Echuca, Stony Creek, Sunshine Coast, Bunbury and Clare.

TAMWORTH: RACE 7 @ 4:45PM

These races are always run at a frantic tempo. Intriguing contest of the Country Championships. This heat shapes up as one of the stronger ones. MAHALANGUR (3) is having his first start for Cody Morgan but since he's been registered under his name for more than three months he's allowed to compete. Proven city form last preparation reads outstanding for this. Has the scalp of Star Of The Seas who subsequently ran third in an Epsom behind Kolding and Te Akau Shark. 2L off Everest fourth placegetter Trekking also on the CV. He's got plenty in his favor. Tuned up nicely off two trials and he's a deserving favourite. No doubting the class of BOBBING (1). Provincial Championships final winner last year now finds himself here given Bernie Kelly's relocation to Scone. He jumped $6 in the Villiers when not beaten far by Quackerjack when last sighted. Inside draw is a concern but if he can find clear air at the right time he's a big threat. CHARLOTTE'S HEART (9) continues to conquer every challenge. No knock. SELECTIONS: In Mahalangur's corner.

CANBERRA: RACE 8 @ 4:30PM

Eltham Place can lead and there will be a number to pressure. EXOTIC DEEL (8) brought strong form to resumption at Albury and won the Maiden easily. She is a promising galloper in the making and can win again for the premiership yard. FOR LOVE (2) comes to peak third up and hasn't been enjoying much luck. She has plenty to give and can make the finish. ELTHAM PALACE (4) will run along and has been knocking on the door. Draws to advantage and Berry takes over from the apprentice. PISA MY HEART (3) has had three runs back and should be ready to show her best. Had no luck at Randwick the latest and will get every chance with Lever riding from a handy gate. SELECTIONS: Exotic Deel can win and go on.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 3 @ 3:39PM (AEDT)

Holly Run to capitalise on the inside alley and lead. HOLLY RUN (1) has been runner-up at all three runs and a maiden win is imminent. Tried very hard only to miss by a whisker over 1400m at the Gold Coast last start. Should get a cosy run up front and will be extremely hard to reel in. EUROKING (4) worked home steadily into 3rd place last time out over 1400m at the Gold Coast. Fitter for two runs back and is sure to appreciate the extra furlong. DENCH (3) recorded her eighth minor placing from 15 starts when a closing 3rd over 1350m at Warwick recently. Placed 2/2 at this track and looks ready to progress to the mile for the first time. RADICAL SPIRIT (6) is one to watch closely with blinkers going on for the first time. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #1 Holly Run.

STONY CREEK: RACE 8 @ 5:05PM

Dennis may lead but not clear-cut. WATERFORD SOUND (3) won by a space this level at Terang and that's the standout form here. Keeps the claim and drawn low can win again. MAGNICITY (7) comes to peak in easier grade. An improved effort is likely. DENNIS (1) ran into the placings here the latest and will be around the mark despite the big weight. ALL IN BRAWL (2) next best back from Adelaide in much easier company. SELECTIONS: Keen on Waterford Sound.
