Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on March 13.
Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Kembla Grange, Taree, Kyneton, Moonee Valley, Sunshine Coast & Townsville.
Moonee Valley: Race 3 @ 7:30pm
Richwaite Lady may lead. ZAYYDANI (7) is promising and resumes off two wins at the mile. Was heavily- backed the latest in the BM 64 and will be improved and ready. Keeps Nolen should manage a sticky gate. CONTRITION (5) was tried in a Group 3 before the break and then spaced the BM64s resuming at Wangaratta at this trip. He has plenty to give off that and finally gets a low gate. SELES (9) has been knocking on the door and will be better back to this trip. Williams sticks and the low gate advantages. PART TIME LOVER (6) won as expected and then missed a lip here this grade improving again. The rail suits and she’s also a chance in a good contest. SELECTIONS: #7 Zayysani to win and go on.

Taree Race 4 @ 3:25pm
Armina and Firefly Poppy will press forward in a race to be run at a decent clip. FIREFLY POPPY (10) had been about the mark in shorter races then stepped up to 1420m at Grafton last start where she raced on the speed but tired late to miss a place. Draws a good gate for a change and back a little in trip looks a great winning chance. TAKE TO HEART (1) was strong late when runner-up over 1280m at Muswellbrook first up. Hasn't won in a long while but with added fitness today is a live chance. I'LL TAKE MONEY (12) wasn't beaten far over 1100m at Armidale recently when coming off a seven-week break. Form at this track and distance is top-shelf so expect a big run. The lightly raced MONICA'S STAR (5) led and boxed on well for 3rd first up over 1000m at this track. Live chance with that run under the belt. SELECTIONS: #10 Firefly Poppy finds the ideal race - great each-way value.
Kyneton: Race 5 @ 3:30pm
Good early speed with Hapaira and Dream Brother candidates to lead. HAPAIRA (4) resumes for a top yard and owns two strong trial wins. Won 2/4 the initial campaign and will run along with Meech booked. Promising and will take plenty of beating. HAMSLETTE (7) just missed twice in stronger city races before holding his figures at the Valley the latest. The shorter trip shouldn’t bother off a brief freshen, and she should go close using the handy gate. DREAM BROTHER (6) led and just missed resuming and is much improved. Suited around here and needs to be kept well onside. THE DOCTOR'S SON (2) just missed at Wagga second-up making a ratings spike. Won’t be far away at odds with the extra fitness. SELECTIONS: This looks a good kicking off point for #4 Hapaira.
Kembla Grange: Race 6 @ 4:55pm
The Tulloch Lodge pair Dorothy Of Oz and Pierro Rose to run the big field along at a strong tempo. AKARI (3) has been finding the line well without threatening in two runs this prep. Got into a bit of strife early but recovered and closed off nicely in the G1 Surround won by Probabeel last start. Won the Listed Reginald Allen third up last prep. Watch for sharp improvement out to the mile. MISSILE MANTRA (2) loomed up and momentarily looked a chance before finishing a very respectable 1.4 length 5th in the Surround last start. Fitter for two runs in from a spell and is ready to peak. SUBPOENAED (4) gave away a huge start on the corner before thundering home to be beaten just a head over 1400m at Rosehill last time out. Will again spot the leaders a big advantage on the bend but watch for her late. ASIAGO (1) tried hard and did a good job to finish 3rd in the same race as Subpoenaed when resuming from a spell recently. Best win came in the G3 Spring Stakes over this distance at Newcastle last prep. Sure to be about the mark. SELECTIONS: #3 Akari is tremendous each-way value.
