Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on March 25.
Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Warwick Farm, Sandown, Eagle Farm, Ascot, Strathalbyn & Launceston.
Sandown: Race 2 @ 3:30pm
Regina Mundi can make the speed. D'ARBANVILLE (3) jumped from a promising debut Maiden effort to a Group 3, fading when passed at the 300m. Keeps a top hoop and has shown enough to say this is winnable. SUNFLARE (1) improved to win the Maiden easily and that stacks right up. Draws low and gets the chance to repeat. REGINA MUNDI (5) led against the above and chased well to make the quinella despite hanging out. Gets some gear switches to fix that and expect her to be in the finish again. CHICA FUERTE (2) didn't have the best of it on debut for a top yard. Sharp improvement is likely. SELECTIONS: #3 D’Arbanville with the extra fitness.

Strathalbyn: Race 3 @ 3:45pm
A few can race handy but not clear-cut who leads. HOLY SANGRIA (5) just missed resuming at Clare on speed and has run some strong races at provincial level. Draws to advantage and fitter can break through in this line-up. MANOR KING (2) placed here as favourite and then led and faded right out after that same venue at the mile. Back to this trip off a brief freshen should see a turnaround. CHAPPETTE (1) resumes for a good yard with the 3kg claim. May be more forward this time around. CHEEKY ATOM (3) next best. SELECTIONS: #5 Holy Sangria has the upside.
Warwick Farm: Race 5 @ 3:55pm
Capri Lane and Good Stock will run this along at a good clip. GOOD STOCK (6) led all the way to break his maiden status in convincing fashion over this course and distance last start. Will enjoy a similar run up on the speed today. Has only raced three times so there is plenty of improvement to come. STARLA (8) was a bit one-paced when 6th first up over 1250m at the Kensington track. Fitter for that run and more at home over today's trip. Likely improver. KAVALMO (9) made late inroads to finish a distant 3rd when resuming over 1250m at the Kensington track recently. Won second up over this journey last prep so should be right there at the finish. CHAT (2) led and was only nailed near the line in the Listed Canberra Guineas over this distance last start. Big chance on that form. SELECTIONS: #6 Good Stock has all the upside and can win again.
Launceston: Race 5 @ 7:50pm
Silkstone, Worthy Opponent and Tennessee Sky to go forward at a good clip. SILKSTONE (2) shared the lead into straight and gave a kick before finishing a game 3rd over this course and distance last start. Very fit gelding with the senior rider back on this time - looks very hard to stop. FIGHTING PHOENIX (1) has not raced since finishing just behind the placegetters over this course and distance nine weeks ago. The winner of his other two runs at this journey. Trialled recently and should go well while fresh. WINDRIDER (9) has enjoyed a month-long let-up since a modest 6th over this trip. Hard one to catch but on his best form is a winning chance. WORTHY OPPONENT (5) turned recent form on its head with an all-the-way win over this trip at Hobart last start. Must be respected. SELECTIONS: This looks ideal for #2 Silkstone.
