Driver rivalries are alive and well despite the Supercars season being postponed judging by the cheeky digs in the leadup to the simulated racing series.

The Supercars season may be postponed but it seems driver rivalries are still alive judging by the barbs exchanged before their upcoming simulation racing series.

Using simulators set up in their homes, all 25 Supercars drivers will take part in the 10-week Eseries starting on April 8 after the on-track season was shelved until at least June due to coronavirus.

The racing may be very different but it appears the same old driver stoushes remain after cheeky digs from former Bathurst 1000 champions Chaz Mostert and David Reynolds.

Some drivers may find it hard to get excited about simulated racing but Mostert and Reynolds have provided plenty of motivation for their foes by naming who they would enjoy running off the road when "racing" begins.

Reynolds was quick to answer when asked who he would have in his sights - two-time defending Supercars champion Scott McLaughlin.

Reynolds fell out with the Ford star last season after accusing the dominant Kiwi of everything from being "boring" to having an unfair mechanical advantage, prompting McLaughlin to call the Holden star "immature".

"Probably McLaughlin," Reynolds told Fox Sports when asked who he hoped to take out first.

Asked if he had made peace with McLaughlin since their very public feud, Reynolds said: "He's been good lately. He has matured a bit and become a bit of a man."

Holden recruit Mostert took the chance to niggle Cameron Waters and the Ford young gun's teammate Lee Holdsworth.

Mostert infamously took out his then Ford teammate Waters at back-to-back races last year - at Pukekohe and Bathurst.

He also has a history of tangling with Waters' co-drivers, making heavy contact with David Russell at Mount Panorama in 2018.

Mostert couldn't help reference his colourful past when he provided his Eseries "to do" list on social media.

"1. Take out Cam Waters. 2. Turn around Holdsy. 3. Stay away from Bryce (Fullwood, Holden teammate)," he posted.

Mostert said some drivers would be taking the Eseries seriously but it seems he won't be one of them.

"You'll have probably two groups," he told the Supercars website.

"You'll have the super fast guys going for the win and then you'll have guys down the back looking to get the biggest crash award.

"I'm sure I'll be more in that second group."
