RANDWICK: RACE 8 @ 4:35PM

Easily the main highlight of the afternoon with this year's Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes. Plenty of speed engaged, they should fly. PIERATA (2) closed off very well first up when a close fifth in the Galaxy. Was a sectional star there and sets up very well stepping up to 1200m. The wide draw suits, he handles all conditions and Berry knows him well. Has the talent to upstage a few of the big names here. NATURE STRIP (1) went like a bomb last start, but the last thing really want to be doing is backing Nature Strip off a peak performance, he invariably flops. No question he's the one to beat if able to hold his form, but it has to be a niggle. BIVOUAC (7) disappointed last start, but can bounce back in a big way. His Newmarket win was top drawer, while SANTA ANA LANE (3) is another who is more than capable. SELECTIONS: Keen to be with Pierata on the each-way.

DOOMBEN: RACE 6 @ 4:07PM (AEDT)

Several sources of speed as you would expect at the sprint journey. NIEDORP (10) resumes after campaigning in Melbourne last spring, highlighted by a second at Moonee Valley and a Group 3 fourth at her last appearance. Hasn't missed a place fresh or at this course and has been readied with a trial. Top chance. JAGGED EDGE (2) draws wide but his form is decent having finished just 2L away last time. With some luck on his side he can be in the finish. Ignore the last run of GO DEEP (7) when he reared at the start and shifted his saddle. Has claims off his previous Eagle Farm win. HOLLABACK GIRL (11) is working up to a win after placing at her past two starts. Respect. RAMTASTIC (3) has each way appeal. SELECTIONS: Niedorp has a touch of class. Backing to win fresh.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 7 @ 4:26pm (AEDT)

Those near the bottom can set the tempo. In the Port Adelaide Guineas you have to think DALASAN (1) just wins if anywhere near his best. It took him a while to get into this campaign but the All Star Mile run was a cracker. That would win this by panels and he draws well. PERFECT ROUTE (3) chases five on the trot. No doubt he is improving and should love the longer trip. YOURDEEL (2) finally showed some form at Mornington. He may just have needed ground. RITRATTO (7) is bred for a Derby so should begin to enjoy his work now. Poorly drawn though. PLAYOFFS (5) can get into the placings. Will get a soft run all the way. SELECTIONS: Easy to back Dalasan.

ASCOT: RACE 7 @ 5:19PM (AEDT)

Good speed with Chisano, Solarize and Warfish from a wide gate also pushing on. To Rise Again probably also goes forward. DOUBLE JEOPARDY (2) tends to run well fresh and has been trialling strongly ahead of this return. Will need some breaks in the run but hard to hold out. WARFISH (7) resumed with an excellent win over 1100m off a wide gate and if he can get across into a handy spot he could repeat the dose. BEDOUIN BELLE (5) is racing well and picks up Pike here. Not disgraced last time and has to be considered. ROUTE EIGHTY EIGHT (4) is a big chance and RAPISARDA (3) is also in the mix. SELECTIONS: Double Jeopardy each-way.
