TOOWOOMBA: RACE 3 @ 1:20PM

Jockey tactics important in the absence of a recognised leader. Amazingly (5) finished midfield over 1400m last start at the Gold Coast as a $4.5 favourite. Jumps up in journey today which will suit. Back-marker who keeps coming and expected to be hard to beat in a pretty plain affair. WHITE COLLAR (2) resumes and has to be considered if the good form from last campaign emerges, including a placing to kick off the prep. Makes plenty of appeal. FILTERS (6) ran below expectations when fresh at Gold Coast over 1400m, finishing 12th beaten 6.25 lengths. Can improve and is a chance in this lineup. SELECTIONS: This looks a nice race for #5 Amazingly.

GUNDAGAI: RACE 2 @ 1:10PM

They'll go hard from the outset. Supreme Kitty (1) came from nowhere to get third on debut at Albury. He gave away race experience yet still finished off better than any other runner. Sure to be improved from that. This is an easier race on face value and with options aplenty from the inside alley should take a power of beating. HOULIO'S DREAM (2) kept on well at Wagga last start behind Bell's Innocent (winner again since). He'll appreciate the blinkers going on and looms as the major threat with McDougall to ride. SCALDED (8) had every chance at the Sapphire Coast last start. Awkward alley makes her job hard but she's still got scope to improve. Can be competitive. SELECTIONS: Supreme Kitty off a strong debut. Backing to win.

WELLINGTON: RACE 7 @ 4:35pm

Speed aplenty in this. Zeftabrook (14) couldn't have been more impressive at Muswellbrook last start. Fillies have a good record in this race and she'll land in the gun spot from gate five. Competitive contest but her turn of foot late last start was superb. Gets the nod. GIRLS KICK ON (9) was good behind a smart one at Newcastle on debut. Stable are firing and she'll have her supporters. LADY OF LUXURY (11) was terrific on debut then down the track in two runs since, admittedly in harder grade. She's an improver today. SELECTIONS: Straight out Zeftabrook in The Boot.

PINJARRA: RACE 4 @ 4:05PM (AEST)

Messy speed map in the absence of any noted on-pacers. Blackwater Bay (3) raced once in the maiden campaign for an even 5th over this trip at Belmont as a $2.10 favourite. Must have more to offer on the SP profile. Ready to win after a solid recent trial. SILENT ACT (8) lifted to finish 2nd, beaten a neck last start over 1100m at Bunbury. Expected to be in the finish with added fitness third up from a spell. IRRITABLE RODNEE (7) is a Zoffany gelding out of the mare Rock On Madonna who is making his debut. Fitter for a recent trial win and is among the main hopes. ABOARD (10) will be rock-hard fit now following a nice 4th at Albany last start. Worth plenty of thought. SELECTIONS: #3 Blackwater Bay to return a winner with Pike up.
