Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on April 16.
Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Goulburn, Wyong, Pakenham, Wangaratta, Cairns & Pinjarra.
Wyong: Race 3 @ 2:25pm
Secretly Awesome should find the lead without too much bother. SECRETLY AWESOME (4) was in the market on debut last start over 1200m at Newcastle and did a good job to box on for a close 2nd after racing on the speed. Sure to take a lot from that experience. Looks the winner in a race that lacks depth. SAVASPUR (3) resumes. Placed 2/3 in the maiden campaign including a close 3rd over 1300m at Kembla to kick off. Will be better over more ground later in the prep but is worth including while fresh. SUPER DANCER (7) is a first starter for Gerald Ryan, by Shooting To Win from a mare with three winners from four foals to race. Placed in a couple of recent trials and should run very well. SEPORTO (5) is first up for 19 weeks. Still a maiden after 12 starts but has placed when fresh in the past. Each-way claims. SELECTIONS: #4 Secretly Awesome looks too good for these.

Goulburn: Race 4 @ 3:20pm
Dollareuro showed pace on debut and is the likely leader. JUST LIKE JESSIE (7) put the writing on the wall last start when she closed strongly to get up for 2nd over this distance at Hawkesbury. Very fit after three runs back and is a winning chance in a modest maiden. STOCKMAN (5) is a lightly raced three-year-old returning from a 165-day spell. Found the line with gusto to record a couple of 2nds at the close of last prep. Bred to stay all day but while fresh can give some cheek. SRINI (4) is a big watch first up from an eight-month spell. Didn't do much in the two runs of his maiden campaign but has been gelded so could turn things around. MISSILE MAGIC (3) has found 1100m too short in his two runs so far this prep. Look for a better run today over an extra furlong. SELECTIONS: #7 Just Like Jessie is tremendous each-way value.
Pinjarra: Race 3 @ 4:05pm
Victory Shot, Kazkazi and Hinchinmose will be prominent from the jump. VICTORY SHOT (11) just missed both initial runs before spelling and then placed here on resumption heavily-backed. Draws to advantage and if he gets back to his best he'll prove very hard to beat. KAZKAZI (4) will push forward and more to give third-up. He can’t be ruled out. HEAPS OF MOOLAH (8) debuts and his two trials have been sharp. He looks ready to race boldly. LIES 'N' DECEPTION (6) has been a bit plain at Ascot the last two, but just missed here three back and looks a hope drawn well. SELECTIONS: #11 Victory Shot rates to take this out.
Wangaratta: Race 9 @ 5:00pm
It's not clear-cut who leads the large field. SESTILLIA (10) placed heavily-backed for a top yard and then improved sharply again winning the Maiden at the mile, also well-backed. Peaks now and won’t have to improve much to take the next step. SUBURBIA (3) missed the hat-trick by a nose at Benalla and draws to advantage with a handy 2kg claim. He will get every chance. MEDUSA'S SON (5) is suited over the longer trip and will be better second-up. Is up to this at best but needs a good ride from the wide gate. RUDY RUDE (4) did a good job winning the Maiden and also draws well with a claim. He’s in the mix. SELECTIONS: #10 Sestillia is in good hands and can be winning again.
Pakenham: Race 5 @ 7:30pm
Pierro Rose will take up the lead. NOVEMBER DREAMING (5) did a good job over an unsuitable trip here on resumption. Quickly up to the mile today, a distance that seen him finish second over at MV last preparation. He's got a touch of class on his day. Williams is keen to stick. Poised to strike. PIERRO ROSE (10) will take some catching on the speed. Too good in an inferior race on resumption and then struggled in a superior race more recently. Hard to know where she sits but with the Waterhouse/Bott toughness she can cause some headaches. FROME THE STARS (8) is long into a prep but racing well. Tried hard behind Jungle Jane at Mornington last start. Proven in this grade. Should be chiming in at the right time. SELECTIONS: November Dreaming straight out.
