Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on April 17.
Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Orange, Port Macquarie, Kyneton, Cranbourne, Gold Coast & Sunshine Coast.
Gold Coast: Race 1 @ 11:10pm
Bay Of Dragons should be quick into stride. SHE'S OUR RIPPA (12) fought on well here first-up. Worked hard to find the lead from the wide alley and was still bobbing strongly at the finish. Will benefit immensely from that. Form last preparation was good. Key rider switch and she's clearly the one to beat. OSAYCAN (7) was narrowly beaten at this track when only having one run last time in. Lightly-raced but is talented. Wouldn't shock to see her measure-up from the inside alley. DANITES (10) is a speedy conveyance. Form here is good but is still yet to crack it for a win. Second-up today and should be right there at the end. BAY OF DRAGONS (4) off multiple placings is best of the remainder. This race has more depth. SELECTIONS: She's Our Rippa to kick us off.

Orange: Race 5 @ 3:20pm
Nevada Sunrise and Future Dreams will engage in a torrid early speed battle. EXOTIC DEEL (7) continued her excellent form this prep when she chimed in late to be beaten less than a length over 1408m at the Sapphire Coast last start. Rock-hard fit after three runs back from a spell. Will relish the hot tempo up front and should finish over the top of them. ROYAL MONARCH (1) was handy on straightening but tired late to just miss a place in a Class 2 over this distance at Wellington last time out. Big chance coming back a level today. WISEMAN (4) has been freshened up since leading into the lane but capitulating at the end of a mile at Wagga seven weeks ago. Will work over from a wide gate and should give a sight coming back a little in trip. ALASKAN AURA (11) was back in form when 3rd over this journey at Dubbo recently. Good each-way prospects. SELECTIONS: Back #7 Exotic Deel to win with a good degree of confidence.
Port Macquarie: Race 8 @ 4:55pm
Ready To Humble, In Ya Skyrocket and Men In Tights to press forward. READY TO HUMBLE (2) returned from an 11-month spell with a comfortable all-the-way win over this distance at Grafton last start. Had to work from a wide gate that day to add merit to the performance. Should get the job done again. DREAMTIME MAGIC (4) kept her 100% top-three finish record intact last time out when a good 3rd over this distance at the Gold Coast after striking the lead at the furlong. That run should top her off beautifully. SHAMUS STAR (8) had a 33-day let-up before charging home to score over today's trip at Tamworth recently. Late bloomer who can go right on with it now. ULTIMATE POWER (5) flashed home late and just missed out over six furlongs at Tamworth last time out. Watch for him late again. SELECTIONS: #2 Ready To Humble to win again.
Cranbourne: Race 7 @ 8:30pm
Just a moderate tempo with Little Phoenix the most likely pace-maker. KUSARI (5) is won here second-up matching his Moonee Valley figure delivered at the back of the first campaign. Presents now at the middle distance with a weight drop and expect the Freedman-trained galloper to take it in his stride. SAM SLICK (1) was beaten a nose here this grade and trip on the same day and draws to get every advantage. Goes close with a repeat of that. TROLLEYED (10) presents off a 7L Maiden win at the mile and he has plenty up the sleeve. The middle distance suits him and the yard is getting plenty of winners. FIELDS OF YULONG (9) and LITTLE PHOENIX (7) are Waller improves who are in the mix. SELECTIONS: #5 Kusari is promising and can win again. Like #11 Witchfullthinking a bit in Race 5 as well.
