Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on April 21.
Four TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Tuesday at Nowra, Scone, Ballarat & Rockhampton.
Nowra: Race 4 @ 2:45pm
You Excite Me has drawn well and should lead comfortably. BLUEANT (3) has been impressive at both run to date in better maidens than this. Closed hard to grab 3rd on debut over 1100m at the Kensington track then again did his best work late when runner-up over 1200m at Kembla last time. Ready to win. The consistent WILLY WILSON (1) loomed up in the straight but peaked late when 4th at Moruya over 1425m last time out. Stepped up sharply in distance that day so will take a lot from the run. REBEL BRO (8) flashed home to just miss over 1300m at Orange a month ago. Trialled since - sure to be competitive. The recent efforts of CANDY PANTS (12) at the provincials have been quite sound. Good each-way option. SELECTIONS: #3 Blueant won't be at any flash odds but should be winning.

Rockhampton: Race 5 @ 1:55pm
Good speed as you would expect with Nonstop maybe leading. OYASHIO (2) is a former Victorian who was on-speed just missing at his first run for the new yard. That was way below his best figures and he wins this getting closer to those. ALSAURUSFIRST (1) led and placed at Mackay and comes to peak. Draws to advantage and won’t be far away. FLYING BLONDE (4) resumes for the same yard with the hot jockey booked. Has shown enough to say he’ll be very competitive but has to manage a wide gate. NONSTOP (6) is fast and will manage the tricky gate. She’s improving and can fill a slot. SELECTIONS: #2 Oyashio won’t have to improve much to win and the current $4.60 (e/w) is good value.
Scone: Race 4 @ 3:05pm
Predictable Miss to roll forward. AESOP'S FABLE (6) had no luck over this trip at Gosford two runs back then was outclassed in the Listed South Pacific at Randwick last time. Very fit filly after four runs in from a spell. Back in her right race today and looks the one to beat. ITASCA (7) was coming off a five-week break when he flashed home to finish 3rd over 1700m at this track last time out. Strips fitter this time and will be hard to hold out. PREDICTABLE MISS (10) also ran on powerfully in the same race as Itasca here recently, finishing just ahead of today's rival. Has been up for a while so may not have the same level of improvement in her but still warrants close attention. TIGEEN (4) peaked on the run late in the piece when 3rd at Hawkesbury over 1500m last start. That run followed a month-long let-up so will strip fitter today. SELECTIONS: Keen on #6 Aesop's Fable.
Ballarat: Race 5 @ 3:30pm
British Isle can lead from Ocean Essence. IGNITING (3) was backed off the map winning the Maiden and has been good in stronger city contests since. Draws well for a top barn and this is very winnable coming to peak. MAXIMAK (7) just missed resuming following a lip defeat in town and has more up the sleeve. Draws to advantage and is a chance with the gear tweaks. OCEAN ESSENCE (2) is a well performed Tasmanian resuming off a big trial win. She runs along and won’t have to have improved much to be a player. JEALICE (8) resumed improved and then didn't get warm on the heavy unfancied. Williams is reunited and expect quick improvement. SELECTIONS: #3 Igniting rates to win a good contest.
