Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on April 26.

Goulburn: Race 5 @ 3:15pm

Expecting a solid tempo. NIEWAND (7) should appreciate the drop back in grade. He held his own in a stronger race at Wyong last start and did attract late market support. Strips fitter and has the necessary scope to put this lot away. In the right stable and his racing pattern should give him every chance. NOBODY'S PUPPET (10) is 510 days since her last win. Recent form is rock solid. Chased hard behind Eltham Palace at Canberra last start. Always thereabouts and the senior rider aboard could be what she needs. HARD CORE (4) resumes from a spell. Talented when right and does have a liking for performing early in the preparation. Watch the market. OUR ROSEMAREE (8) best of the rest. SUGGESTED PLAY: Niewand gets the nod.

Geelong: Race 5 @ 3:00pm

Early speed should be even. Room To Rhyme and Indispensable will be prominent from Wheal Grace and Stardayz. Tricky affair. SUPER HUSSEY (13) just missed in town last start behind Viral when first up. Her form prior to a spell was consistent in better grade and she can go close here second up from a good draw. FORTUNE ROSE (8) won well at this track last start in this grade. With added fitness she can hold that form here. 
APPROACH DISCREET (2) resumes here and isn't badly in at the weights after the claim. Respect. INDISPENSABLE (7) is progressing nicely and despite a wide draw has the form to figure in the finish. STARDAYZ (12) chased home the promising Lunakorn last start. From a middle draw and with Ben Melham going on, she creates plenty of interest. SUGGESTED PLAY: Super Hussey can go close.

Ipswich: Race 6 @ 1:50pm

Expecting a strong speed upfront. JOLIETTE (1) is aiming for three on the bounce. Sprinted too well for his rivals here most recently. Quickly up in trip but if she can offer that same dash late in the race, they'll struggle to beat her. Highly untapped and is the obvious selection in this race. INCHING CLOSER (3) has also returned in fine order. He's won both his starts at Toowoomba. This is a step-up in class but he's building a CV. Deserves respect. GROUP THINK (2) was a shade disappointing at Toowoomba last start. Still learning and will be fitter for the run over the trip. Stable are firing at present. MISS CAVALLO (4) made necessary improvement here most recently. Gives the impression this distance will suit. SUGGESTED PLAY: Joliette for the win.

Pinjarra Race 6 @ 3:20pm

There's on-pacers drawn across the barriers that are capable of leading. PORPHYRIO (5) missed a short half head resuming improved at Bunbury and then spaced the CL1 field here 21 days ago. Powered home and looks well-placed to take the next step. PATY'S FORCAST (8) improved off the Ascot placing to win the CL1 here, and then went back to Ascot and wasn't disgraced in stronger grade. Needs a good ride, but is capable of bouncing back. TEXAS MOON (7) has been knocking of the door and will find this easier than Ascot where he finished close-up. He's a hope. SPECIALISM (2) just missed behind Wee Ripper at Ascot in stronger grade, making good improvement and the 4kg claim brings her into it. SELECTION: #5 Porphyrio rates clear off the latest and can go on.

Gawler Race 5 @ 3:50pm

A number with early pace with Maiden Grace a likely leader. ANTRIM'S SECRET (7) led and improved here placing behind Hills and then made a ratings spike missing a lip at the same venue in stronger than this. Has the speed too clear the wide gate and can win with a leading hoop sticking. ALASKAN JADE (1) has just missed the last two runs in a bit stronger and always puts in. The 4kg claim brings her right into it. LACE AND WHISKEY (3) won the BM58 in town, and then things didn't work out at Listed level when she bucked and lost the rider. She's in a leading yard and quick improvement is on the cards. ARCTIC BLAZE (6) comes to peak and draws well. She's in the mix. SELECTION: Looks the right race for #7 Antrim's Secret.
