Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 13.
Warwick Farm: Race 7 @ 4.20pm
SPECIAL SNAP (9) went well fresh before just peaking late at this C&D last start. Still rates well off that and Nash goes aboard. Drawn out, but is expected to press forward and should be in this for a long way. LILLEMOR (10) failed really to come into contention first up, but can improve sharply second up and is more than capable on best form. Has to be kept safe. FEATHER (4) returned in great order last start and a key jockey switch with JMac going aboard. Rates well, will just need some luck from the wide draw. JOY AND MIRTH (11) only went down narrowly last start and should be right at her peak third up, next best. SELECTION: Backing #9 Special Snap to win.

Doomben: Race 7 @ 4:03pm
MUSICMAKER (6) took up the running and turned in front but grabbed late, holding third and beaten 1.6 lengths over this journey at Sunshine Coast. That gave her a win and two placings from three starts this campaign. Go close. SPARTAN (5) got well back over 1350m at Wyong last time, spotting a start turning in and never threatened when finishing 12th. New stable now and normally is an on pacer. Looks one of the main contenders. GREEN JACKET (2) broke through for maiden win at Gold Coast over 1200m and the jockey Andrew Mallyon sticks. He can cope with the rise in grade. CHARMACYS (3) was a determined maiden winner last time out, scoring by half a length over 1210m at Toowoomba. Harder here but is not to be discounted. SELECTION: Backing #6 Musicmaker to win.
Gawler: Race 7 @ 4:10pm (AEST)
Good early speed with Real Easy and Maiden Grace vying for the lead and Life's Reward won't be far away. MAIDEN GRACE (11) was a trial winner at The Parks and resumed beaten a nose by Sand Cat at this track in better than this. She's improved and has the speed to clear the wide gate. Gets in light with the 3kg claim and is the one to beat. ICECRUSHER (7) is a former West Australian resuming for Shayne Cahill and he also takes the ride. Her best form would have her in the finish and expect her to be ready to go. SCARE CAMPAIGN (3) was tracking well before a plain effort at The Bridge. Draws out, but a bounce is on the cards. REAL EASY (4) had been knocking on the door before being out-graded in town when eased up. Is back after 18 days and is worth keeping onside. SELECTION: #11 Maiden Grace looks a solid win bet.
Sandown: Race 8 @ 4:30pm
Cleo's Poet can lead from Elegant Snitz and the large field should generate a reasonable tempo. INDEPENDENT ROAD (5) is a Listed and Group level performer who needed the run first-up and then made a ratings spike just beaten at Flemington at Open 3 level. He should be ready to fire and Zahra takes over for Team Hayes. HIGHLAND JAKK (14) should also be ready following the two runs back and was wide the latest. Just missed at Listed level before the break and Oliver takes over. BIG BREW (6) ran his best race at Caulfield and Williams sticks. The odds are much shorter today and he will get every chance from the low gate. INFLUENTIAL GIRL (4) has won two of the last three and did a big job getting up as favourite the latest on the heavy track. Keep improving and she can make the finish at good odds with the 3kg claim. HIGH 'N' DRY (7) gets a wide gate but has ability definite claims. SELECTION: A terrific race, but #5 Independent Road gets the nod.
