Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on June 5.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Taree, Wagga, Donald, Toowoomba & Geraldton.
Donald: Race 7 @ 3:30pm
Gaucho can lead from I Am The Fox and In Her Honour. FLOREAT PICA (6) has just missed the last two at the mile holding a good level of form. He's in good hands and expect him enjoy the lift to the middle distance. He will push forward and should go close. SMOKIN' PIERRO (3) has been busting to win over a bit longer and is back 450m on a 7-day return. Gets the blinkers again and is a serious player. PROTECTION MONEY (4) was back to form winning the 58 here and may go on with it now. The wide gate makes it tougher. MICKEY BLUE EYES (1) comes to peak and should be ready to show his best. Has to be considered on the 8-day return. SELECTIONS: This looks a nice progression for #6 Floreat Pica.

Wagga: Race 6 @ 3:25pm
Will run along in this. Even race. PURE PHYLIS (7) sat closer in the run last start and was able to get the job done. Was given a good ride that day and you'd expect no loss with McDougall taking the reins. Doesn't want it longer than 1000m but she's got enough scope to go back to back. BENNO'S BOY (8) lines up for start 161. He's been a terrific money spinner for connections and his recent form suggests he still loves racing. He's got good customary speed for an old horse and is guaranteed to give a sight. POWERSCOURT (2) is easily the class runner in the race but he is a big query with the weight/barrier. Five time winner over this distance and he was too good for them at Parkes last start. If he has luck and lumps the weight, he wins. IGGY THE MOOCHER (1) with blinkers removed can sneak a placing. First start for the new stable and should find this easier. SELECTIONS: Pure Phylis straight out.
Toowoomba: Race 5 @ 4:25pm
A few can race handy but it's not clear who will run them along. THE MINIVAN (5) finds easier grade and go on the Sunshine Coast placing two back. Was outgraded at the Sunshine Coast the latest this trip on the heavy track and may not have appreciated it. Rates well and can win comfortably finding his best. FRASCATI MISS (7) was plain here, but much better behind Minor Luck at Ipswich. She gets the chance to go one better. RANGAS RULE (4) did a good job winning the Maiden here and prepared to forgive the Ipswich run after when drawn wide up to this distance range. Gets the rail today and the stable is firing. GRATSIE (1) was only beaten 1L at Ipswich against the above at long odds and is in the mix holding that. SELECTIONS: #5 The Minivan is very well suited.
