Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 20.
Randwick: Race 4 @ 1.15pm
MOUNT POPA (1) caught the eye late in his Australian debut when closing off well behind Honey Esprit. Was sent out favourite there and appears much better suited stepping up to 2000m. Best form from France leaves him well placed and he should prove hard to hold out. ELABORATE (6) continues to race well and is very hard to knock. Handles all conditions, just where he gets to from the draw is the query. Sets up well back to 2000m and looms as a major threat. HUMBOLT CURRENT (3) is prone to mixing his form, but is capable and has to be included, while KORCHO (9) also remains under strong notice. SELECTION: Very keen on #1 Mount Popa.

Flemington: Race 1 @ 11:45pm
DANON ROMAN (2) went back early from his wide draw over 1400m at Caulfield last time but hit the line strongly to finish sixth. Really nice return and the mile on the bigger track suits now. Has been a slightly frustrating horse in Australia, showing glimpses of talent without really putting it all together, but given a great chance today. MAN OF PEACE (3) scored two back then sat on the pace last time and stuck on well over 1600m at Randwick. Can make his own luck and take some pegging back. BRILLIANT CONCEPT (6) is in top form, coming off a win at Sandown-Lakeside last time where he made it two in a row. Tougher but winnable here. AMMOUDI BAY (8) is in winning form scoring at Ballarat last time and can run well again. SELECTION: Backing #2 Danon Roman to put it together here.
Doomben: Race 4 @ 1.22pm
RECKLESS CHOICE (4) should be ready to show his best. He is fitter for two runs since a spell and has a fine third up record with two wins and a placing from three attempts. Has a 50 per cent strike rate at the mile so the step up suits. Gets his chance. MILK MAN (7) deserves a win after placing at his past three starts. Not far away at both of his Queensland runs and wouldn't have to lift much to break through. THE KINGDOM (5) disappointed last time but had put together a string of wins before that so is worth another chance. GRESHAM (1) is consistent and should be in the finish again along with last-start winner MANGIONE (9). SELECTION: #4 Reckless Choice to peak third up at the mile. Backing each way.
Morphettville: Race 6 @ 2.56pm (AEST)
OCTANE (3) appears one of the better bets of the card. He was excellent in three runs in the Spring. He sat back in those and rounded them up each time. He has his favourite rider on again and will love any conditions. SYMPHONETTE (6) finally got back to winning ways a month ago. She charged over the top late. The claim is a good situation here too. BAYOU (7) took on the Proud Miss Stakes five weeks ago but that was too tough. This is more her chance. FANCY RUMBLE (5) could be a little value resuming as she likes to race that way. Can get out late and place. SELECTION: Keen on #3 Octane.
Belmont: Race 5 @ 4.28pm (AEST)
BRIGHT DIAMOND (7) is unbeaten in two starts and did a big job to pick them up from last over this trip. Drawn well and looks to have plenty of talent. Go well. SHE'S ENCHANTED (5) almost knocked Bright Diamond off on debut then won her next two in easy style. Up to 1200m but looks to be a threat. LA VINA (8) was disappointing when back to 1000m last time as favourite so the trip suits better. Game in a Listed race prior and worth another chance. BOOMTASTIC (2) and MOOD SWINGS (6) are worth thought. SELECTION: #7 Bright Diamond to win.
