Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on July 16.
Five TAB Meetings are held across Australia on Thursday at Gosford, Moree, Ballarat, Dalby & Northam.
Ballarat: Synthetic Race 4 @ 2:30pm
Gannett can lead from Lexington Lad crossing over and La Biela. MYSTIC CLOUD (8) made sharp improvement here 9 days ago just missing from the front. She's at peak now and will take a sit today off the wider gate. She can make another ratings spike and is the one to beat. GUNNER GET IT DUNN (3) will use the rail and will be better for the two placed runs. Gets the visors first time and his chance. TWO ACTS (10) is on a 6-day return and would be a genuine hope of she can find her best. LEXINGTON LAD (4) needs a good ride but an improver who also deserves consideration. SELECTIONS: #8 Mystic Cloud can go one better.

Gosford: Race 4 @ 2:05pm
Expecting a solid speed. HONEY GO LIGHTLY (2) profiles well for this. She's been around the mark all campaign. Form around her continues to hold up. Drawn ideally down low and with even luck she looks the testing material. MINIFINN (5) has good talent. Ridden well out of her ground first-up and she was never likely. Small field + Avdulla on are big positives. Will be rattling home. CATHAY (8) produced an encouraging debut at Nowra a fortnight ago. Demands more market attention on that effort. SEGOSHA (7) has been thereabouts in three starts to date. Blinkers go on. Not the worst. SELECTIONS: Honey Go Lightly straight out.
Dalby: Race 4 @ 2:50pm
No designated leader and Jochberg may do the job. JOCHBERG (2) almost matched his Victorian best resuming at Ipswich in stronger grade. He was beaten just 2.5L and didn't have the best of it. He draws well and gets the handy claim and just needs to handle the conditions will be very hard to beat. LOUIE LA'JOY (4) brings good provincial form to peak and looks the danger. He needs a bit of luck from the sticky gate. PROUD ROC (3) has been going along okay at Toowoomba and has more to give third-up. He won't be far away. SMOKEY DIAMOND (1) finds easier class and is also in the mix. SELECTIONS: #2 Jochberg has the clear best last start figure and had more to give.
Moree: Race 4 @ 3:05pm
Plenty of pacesetters engaged. HALCYON HOUSE (1) was a deserving winner at Muswellbrook last start. Building a nice record early in his career. CL1 to a CL3 isn't an easy progression but he's the only runner in this race with any form of upside. Happy to trust the trainers decision. CHEVRON PRINCE (5) won two straight before a midfield finish at Muswellbrook a fortnight ago. Carries no weight after the claim for Simpson and should be ridden much handier from the better gate. BOOMSHAKE THE ROOM (4) is aiming for the hat-trick. Had a bit on them at Warren last start when given a good ride. Doubt the drop back to 950m is ideal but he's clearly in the zone and should be finishing off. THE PHAROAH (2) would be mighty hard to beat on his best form. Problem is we haven't seen that for awhile now. SELECTIONS: Halcyon House straight out.
