Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on July 23.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Ballina, Kembla Grange, Warrnambool, Townsville & Pinjarra.
Kembla Grange: Race 5 @ 3:35pm
Expecting a solid speed. DESTINATION (1) is resuming from a break. Tested in the deep end last campaign and held his own. 3L off the winner at Flemington up the straight two back. Given time to furnish. He broke the maiden this track/trip back in November. Won't have any excuses back to CL1 grade. HARMONIUM (6) was no match for Doubtland and co in the Kindergarten before a break. Two soft trials leading in but deserves thought back in grade. WILD CHAP (2) best of the rest. In new hands but his debut win albeit in a bush maiden was superb. Watch the market. SELECTIONS: Destination can make a winning resumption.

Warrnambool: Race 7 @ 3:30pm
Frankly Harvey and Delightful Scoop may be the pair to run them along. THE EXECUTIONER (2) deserved the win at this grade as favourite and then raced favourite again at Moonee Valley in much stronger and just missed after a slow off. He gets the handy claim and is drawn for a soft run. Laps up the heavy and the colt is clearly the one to beat. FRANKLY HARVEY (5) peaks off the 1.3L defeat at Cranbourne and didn't get it easy. He peaks now and will be right in the finish running along. WILD VITALITY (8) has won two of the last three and keeps getting better. He needs a bit of luck pushing forward and can make the finish. CHORTOMIC (1) was close up at Caulfield 26 days ago at the mile in much stronger than this. He's busting to win but needs a good ride from the 3kg claimer from the outside gate. SELECTIONS: #2 The Executioner looks well-placed to win again.
Townsville: Race 8 @ 5:25pm
There's a number who can race on-speed with Kiss The Boss the likely leader crossing the field. LIGHTHORSE LAD (8) is a former Victorian who wins this getting close to his best. He raced well here at his second run for the new yard and then led and blitzed the Maidens 19 days ago heavily-bet. He will use the rail and can go on with it with a leading hoop sticking. CHEEKY REWARD (12) wasn't beaten far at monster odds in a CL3 and then led and was just nudged out at this level. She keeps the 3kg claim and has each way claims despite the trickier gate. EIGHTFA (7) was an easy third-up Maiden winner 49 days ago and won't be far away building on that with the weight drop. WOTSIZNAME (5) was close-up at Mackay 23 days ago for the new yard running favourite and will get a soft run. He's well in the mix. SELECTIONS: #8 Lighthorse Lad has settled well in Townsville and has more to give.
