Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on August 4.
Four TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Tuesday at Moruya, Scone, Pakenham & Townsville.
Pakenham Synthetic: Race 2 @ 1:30pm
Warpedo has drawn well and should take advantage and lead. JOURNEY OF SONG (3) was fresh from a five-week break when a very game runner-up over this course and distance last start. Raced a lot closer to the speed that day and didn't lie down under the big weight. Can go one better today with added fitness. GALAXY TURF (2) settled last then made a sustained run to get up for 2nd over this course and distance eight days ago. Has taken a while to hit his straps but is well and truly on track now. LUISELLI (12) returns from a four-month break. Finished 4th when resuming over 1000m at Moonee Valley last prep. Expect a bright performance from the favourable draw. NOT AVAILABLE (6) settled handy and boxed on well for 3rd on debut over this course and distance a fortnight ago. Big chance with any natural improvement. SELECTIONS: Backing #3 Journey Of Song with a fair degree of confidence.

Scone: Race 1 @ 1:10pm
Caribbean Gold to roll forward in a low-pressure mile. BAILEYS (1) will find this a lot easier than his last couple. Ran on well and was only beaten 1.7 lengths in the Grafton Guineas over this distance last start. Nicely drawn and looks a bit too good for this lot. HOLY SUNDAY (4) wound up late to grab 3rd when resuming over 1300m at this track last time out. Scored a terrific maiden win at this circuit last prep then just missed over 1750m at Muswellbrook a run later. Big chance as he steps up to this trip. TIME TO DAZZLE (9) has not raced since collecting her maiden over 2000m at Wangaratta two months ago. In a new stable now and is worth keeping safe although the run will improve her. NINE NOT OUT (5) disappointed at Taree last time but does race well here so worth another chance. SELECTIONS: Confident #1 Baileys can win the opener.
Moruya: Race 4 @ 2:45pm
Endymion can lead and there are a number who can apply some pressure. CHOCCY GAF (7) brings very strong form and improved again beaten 1.2L on the Randwick Kensington 17 days ago. He will race handy and will have these covered with a repeat of that. LEGISLATION (5) was slow off at Kembla Grange 17 days ago and best to forget. The previous four stack right up and the local deserves another chance. ENDYMION (4) is fast and go on the lip defeat here two-back. He's sure to take catching. SIR EAGLE (2) was plain at Kembla but won the Maiden here prior as favourite. He has more to give and is a chance. SELECTIONS: A suitable assignment for #7 Choccy Gaf.
Townsville: Race 10 @ 4:25pm
Tango Rain can lead a good clip. LOVE IS BLIND (7) won the Open 3 by a space and then was heavily-backed the same level just beaten. He will use the rail and is clearly the one to beat with the big weight drop. CEDARWOOD (5) won first up and has been beaten a whisker the two since in this class. He draws to advantage and is right in it. BRING IT HOME POP (3) improved sharply winning the Open by a space at Rocky and will be fitter again. He's well in the mix. LAST CHANCE (6) missed a lip in the Mackay Open and is also going well enough to be given a chance. SELECTIONS: #7 Love Is Blind is back 200m but still appeals. #5 Rocco in Race 8 also looks a bet.
