Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on August 6.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Coffs Harbour, Kembla Grange, Warrnambool, Gatton & Pinjarra.
Canterbury: Race 6 @ 3:45pm
Expecting a solid speed. Decent race with a handful of nice types. WAR WEAPON (8) couldn't have been more impressive here on debut. Admittedly didn't beat much but the style in which he went about it really caught the eye. Open to plenty of improvement. Has the rail for guidance from the inside alley and he's expected to be hard to beat again. BADIA (1) has more ability than her record suggests. Chased hard behind Moccasin Miss first-up at Wyong. City winner last preparation and should have admirers. Will be strong late. FLASH POINT (3) was bumped on jumping and had to settle last at Kembla Grange last start, ultimately costing her the race. Promising and the rise in trip is a positive. WAR MEMORIAL (7) showed sustained speed when never in doubt at Gosford last start. Guaranteed to give a sight once again. SELECTIONS: War Weapon for the win.

Coffs Harbour: Race 3 @ 1:50pm
Expecting a solid speed. CHAMBERMAID (4) made good late ground when second at Scone on resumption. She's an honest mare who looks suited by the rise to the mile. Will easily overcome the wide alley by going back and she's the one to beat with a clear run to the line. ENTERPRISE KEREN (9) is rock hard fit. Run off her feet last start at Ballina. This distance suits and she's an obvious threat. RONAN'S ROCK (1) has been back to the trials since finishing midfield at Rosehill a month ago. Keep safe. WINGED POET (3) for the multiples. SELECTIONS: Chambermaid straight out.
Gawler: Race 6 @ 4:10pm
A few can race handy but it's not clear who leads over the middle-distance. AMMO LOCO (6) deserved the comfortable CL1 win and then wasn't beaten far at this level. He will get the run of the race from the low draw and can bounce with a top hoop (Vorster) sticking. KARAOKE EXPRESS (9) has improved the last two and drops in grade. He looks well-weighted and has solid each way claims. SPIEGEL GROVE (5) got a lot closer as equal favourite the latest. He's up to this and gets another chance. PERSIAN EMPIRE (2) improved sharply missing a lip at Murray Bridge coming hard. He always needs a good ride but is well in the mix holding that form. SELECTIONS: A very competitive set of races. #6 Ammo Loco will get all the favours and is the one to beat.
