Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on August 13.
Four TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Newcastle, Sale, Ipswich & Northam.
Ipswich: Race 6 @ 3:20pm
Will go quick in this. TRENGGANU (4) won by a lazy 6.8L at Toowoomba on resumption. Fair to say he didn't beat much but to the eye it was impressive. Will only be fitter. Well weighted with the claim and can repeat the dose. JAZZ QUEEN (10) will offer some resistance. Went within a head of victory at Doomben on resumption. Always tries hard and will give strong chase in the run to the line. Good enough to win. OUR SWAN LAKE (9) resumes. Form on paper doesn't read great but this is a big drop in grade. SELECTIONS: Trengganu has come back well and can go on with the job.

Newcastle: Race 4 @ 2:25pm
Will go quick in this. SNITZARI (7) has nice promise. She impressed leading all the way to win this track/distance before a spell. Given time to develop by the Lees camp. Three strong fitness building trials in readiness for today's assignment. Ready to make an impression. BELLE OF CLONMEL (3) is a consistent type around this level. Berry goes on. Tighter tracks suit her better but she should be finding the line nevertheless. RIFLES (2) was pushed out to win a recent trial at Gosford by a big space. He's lightly-raced but has enough talent to be competitive in this. SHADOW CRUSH (1) best of the rest. SELECTIONS: Snitzari straight out.
Sale: Race 6 @ 3:30pm
Unfair Dismissal can lead from Deadly Sins and it should be run at a decent tempo. AJAY'S ACE (7) was a bit unlucky on resumption as favourite and then came to the mile here and recorded an easy Maiden win bet into even-money. She's promising and can immediately take the next step drawn to advantage. UNFAIR DISMISSAL (3) won the 58 by a space on the soft and then just went down this grade at Sandown on a good track. He gets deep grass today but is a serious threat pushing forward. SLICK BACK (2) has won two of the last three on the synthetic and the 3kg claimer will hunt forward. He's a hope but the jury is out wet tracks. PLOT THE COURSE (1) wasn't beaten far here second up in better grade and gets the handy 3kg claim. He looks up to surprising and keep well onside. SELECTIONS: #7 Ajay’s Ace looks a solid bet at the $4+ currently on offer.
Northam: Race 5 @ 5:00pm
Under The Arches may be the one to make the pace from Treat Yo Self. TREAT YO SELF (4) improved again missing a lip at Belmont and then led winning comfortably the same venue also at this trip. She gets the handy 2kg claim for the same hoop and can go right on with it for a leading yard. PEARLS FROM HEAVEN (1) improved again winning this distance at Belmont and is a decent chance to repeat holding that form. UNDER THE ARCHERS (3) runs along and go on the Maiden win two back. She draws to control the race and can stick on better than last time getting to peak. CHAMPAGNE GAL (8) finds a bit easier is also in the mix. SELECTIONS: Backing #4 Treat Yo Self to win.
