Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on August 26.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Kensington, Sandown, Doomben, Belmont & Murray Bridge.
Doomben: Race 5 @ 2:50pm
PROSPECTUS (8) made an early move and boxed on well when third over 1615m at this track. That was an improvement on the resuming effort and he is proven third up so should be set to peak. Well drawn and ready to win. SLOW HANDS (1) has been in the market at all three starts this campaign and hasn't been far away in any of them. Dual winner at the course and the distance and is race fit now. Expecting a strong run in this field. ALDERMAN (2) is fitter for recent racing and should relish stepping up to a distance where he is unbeaten. SELECTIONS: #8 Prospectus is ready to peak and win third up.

Randwick-Kensington: Race 5 @ 3:45pm
Strong early tempo with Big Parade, Quatum and Axe leading the way. JUAN DIVA (5) chased hard but just missed a cheque in a very busy finish when resuming over this trip at Canterbury last start. Scored a big win second up last prep over 1100m at Warwick Farm. Perfectly drawn to box-seat behind the slick tempo. Doesn't need to improve a lot to be taking this out. BIG PARADE (2) is the danger first up from a 32-week spell and now with Mark Newnham. Opened last prep with a very soft all-the-way win over today's journey at Gosford. Trialling in great style and looks set for a bright return. PLAQUETTE (7) last raced when down the track behind Rubisaki in the G3 PJ Bell on 4 April. Consistent performer in midweek company last prep. Will be better for the run but cannot be ruled out with McDonald taking the ride. QUATUM (8) went mad in front and understandably capitulated at the end of this trip at Randwick last start. Worth another chance back in midweek grade. SELECTIONS: #5 Juan Diva each-way in a very good race.
Murray Bridge: Race 7 @ 4:10pm
Expecting Fabulous Flipper to run them along. GRINZINGER EXPRESS (16) resumes and wins this comfortably if presented on-song. She finds much easier grade and the 3kg claim is handy. She can stalk the speed and appeals strongly in this company. FABULOUS FLIPPER (5) runs along but has disappointed the last two. She's just missed the three before and no surprise if she improves today. She has the speed to manage the tricky gate. VALLIANO (1) resumes with a claim and is likely to be presented forward. His best would have him around the mark. TURF TAPPER (11) is in the mix and the Bordertown placing would see him in the top-four. SELECTIONS: #16 Grinzinger Express will have these covered if the late market says she’s ready.
Sandown: Race 8 @ 4:30pm
From the inside gate Gasworx will show enough dash to hold the lead and Unfair Dismissal won't be far away. APPROACH DISCREET (6) was just beaten twice before delivering the easy third-up win this track, grade and trip. He's a promising galloper drawn to get a soft run and Oliver sticking adds to the confidence. RECKONING (9) didn't have the best of it at Caulfield and then belted home when beaten a whisker here at 1500m. That rates extra well and no surprise if he goes one better. BLINDER (7) presents at peak and is ready to win. He didn't have the best of it as favourite the latest and can find his best at this trip. REFORMIST (3) was tough winning this grade at Bendigo and will get every chance to repeat. SELECTIONS: # 6 Approach Discreet looks well set-up to win again.
Belmont Race 4 @ 5:35pm
A solid tempo with Flaming Famous and So Sway making the speed with War Anthem on their heels. SO SWAY (2) debuted here off a trial win and was just nudged out and then presented in this grade and sat on the leaders heals and was unable to trim the margin when just pipped into third. He will be fitter and can bounce back drawn low and with the 3kg claimer going on. STARTRADE (3) won the Maiden at Northam as expected running on well. That stacks up and the extra 100m suits him. THE FINEST (9) was just beaten this grade at Northam making a ratings spike. He needs a good ride but would be right in it with a repeat of that. APPROACH (7) was just pipped resuming for the new yard much improved. He has to be kept onside and won't be 50-1 today. SELECTIONS: #2 So Sway can win getting all the favours.
