Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 29th August 2020

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian metropolitan meetings for August 29.

Caulfield: Race 5 @ 2.10pm

ORDEROFTHEGARTER (3) was in the money last time finishing second over 1600m at Flemington off a long break. Really promising return off the big spell and can only be fitter now second up. This is his trip and he looks a big winning chance. Fellow spring hopeful SCHABAU (9) just had one run last prep when well held at Flemington but just a short break this time and expecting to see a much more race-ready model. YOUNG RASCAL (1) kicks off for his new yard with a decent winning chance for all that he will surely improve for the day out. AL GALAYEL (4) was a winner last time over 1600m at Moonee Valley and is at least as good over this trip. He's a hope along with POLLY GREY (7) who also comes off a good Valley run. SELECTION: #3 Orderofthegarter is capable of winning better races.

Morphettville Parks: Race 3 @ 1.41pm (AEST)
THE DIFFERENCE (7) has to be a player after the dominant win a while ago. He likes it fresh so that won't hurt. He can improve once more. Strong chance. SIGN OF USSURI (2) has been racing well. He hasn't won the last couple but only just missed. This is a freshen up from six weeks off but he could pounce late. SILVERHAWK (3) enjoyed racing on the pace and held on nicely two weeks ago. Hard to beat a horse in this form. DANGER DEAL (4) usually runs well on this track. He is ready to show something now off two runs back. SELECTION: #7 The Difference will keep getting better

Rosehill: Race 8 @ 4.30pm

MUGATOO (3) returned with a bang last start when far too good in the Listed Winter Challenge. Since kept fresh (35 days) and loved his most recent trial at Gosford. Should relish the step up in trip and has drawn to get a lovely suck run for McEvoy. Takes on a few handy gallopers, but he looks to have too much in the locker. TAIKOMOCHI (2) did too well last start when too strong on-speed leading throughout at Randwick. Doubt he gets similar favours here, but is racing well and should hold his form. MUSTAJEER (1) has class on his side and is a noted fresh performer. Not easy with the weight, but the booking of McDonald is a decent push. GIRL TUESDAY (11) was back to form at Hawkesbury last start and appears the next in line. SELECTION: Very keen on #8 Mugatoo - Best Bet Of The Day.

Eagle Farm: Race 9 @ 4.38pm
THE KINGDOM (8) dropped back in distance and caught the eye running on strongly for second in the Coffs Harbour Cup last start. He should enjoy the extra 225m having won at a similar trip to this here two back, his third win from five attempts at the journey. Go close. FIGHTING TEO (4) appreciated the drop from stakes company when leading throughout to score at Ipswich last time. He could take beating again. ALIFEROUS (9) ran on well to place in Sydney first up. Jumps in distance but can progress. TOP PROSPECT (11) hasn't been far away of late and is drawn to be involved again while KAONIC (3) and RIGHT OR WRONG (7) are both worthy of a place in the exotics. SELECTION: #8 The Kingdom to win back up to the right distance.

Belmont: Race 8 @ 7.15pm (AEST)
WE'VE GOT DREAMS (1) loves the short trip and will find the lead here and give a big sight. Too strong last time and the form is good. The one to catch. CLIFFS OF COMFORT (4) had a dream run when winning second-up and while back in distance isn't ideal he's a big chance if he gets across. SILKINIZE (9) probably didn't get the 1200m last time but was strong winning at this trip prior. Will be running on strongly. NERODIO (3) and MOLTEN (2) are among the other chances. SELECTION: #1 We've Got Dreams makes appeal at decent odds.
