Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for August 30.

Wyong: Race 6 @ 3:45pm

Dambulla looks the likely leader and should be able to comfortably find the front. MALFY (5) continues to go from strength to strength. Had backing at Hawkesbury last start and bolted in. CL1 to BM68 is never easy but she appears a horse with substantial promise. Being by Dundeel she should lap up the extra trip. FRENZIED (1) third-up appears a danger. Game effort off a wide trip at Newcastle most recently. Hard fit and gets Nash. Danger. CONTINUATION (3) is always around the mark. Doesn't win out of turn but should appreciate the drop back in grade. ETHERIDGE (4) for the exotics. SELECTION: #5 Malfy to win again.

Sunshine Coast: Race 2 @ 1:35pm
KEEN ON GOLD (2) is enjoying a consistent preparation. Placed his past two in town when doing his best work over the concluding stages. Ready for the mile and with the drop in grade he rates a strong winning chance. FLYBRIDGE (5) overcame difficulty to get the job done here most recently. Since freshened and will derive good confidence from that. Drawing low could be a negative for a horse who needs room to wind-up but either way he looks a big hope of going back to back. SHINSHINTO (4) made his own luck on the speed and was too good here last start. Has enough upside to take the next step. ROTHABYE (3) down in the weights is a place hope. This is his level and he can be thereabouts without shock. SELECTION: #2 Keen On Gold is racing well and betting accordingly.

Casterton Race 3 @ 2:15pm
Average tempo and Ready To Indulge can find the lead. TANGO GOLD (11) was heavily-bet just missing at Warrnambool and will be better for that. She draws low today and clearly rates to win rising in trip for the hot Price-Kent yard. READY TO INDULGE (16) was heavily-bet at Wodonga but had to settle for a placing. She comes to peak and can make a finish again for a top barn. ARCADIA KING (17) resumes for the new yard and the former WA galloper was last seen at Listed level over a middle distance. He's likely to need a run but he draws low and is certainly a market watch. AMERICAIN TYPHOON (1) was threatening before the disappointing run at Geelong. The extra distance will suit him and expect a much better run. SELECTION: #11 Tango Gold is sure to take beating.

Port Augusta: Race 3 @ 3:00pm (AEST)
Strong early tempo with Melhoopen and Electrum leading the way. MELHOOPEN (7) led and was beaten a lip first up at Naracoorte heavily-bet and has plenty up the sleeve. She may control this and the yard is flying. Lightly-raced and should be winning. STRIP CLUB (12) will use the rail and peaks off two provincial outings. This suits better and she should be right in the finish. TERELLI (10) resumes for the new yard off stronger contests and is right up to this at best. Keep a close eye on the market. JETTA JAE (5) will be better back 100m and is going well enough to place. SELECTION: #7 Melhoopen should be winning.

Mudgee: Race 5 @ 3:30pm
Pace genuine with Epimetheus booting up on the fence to hold the lead. TEMPLE RUN (1) should appreciate the drop back to CL1 level. His run two back when second at BM64 level at Kembla Grange bodes well for him in this line-up. Leading rider booked and despite the big weight he brings some class to this contest. SPILIA (6) is yet to run poorly since relocating to the west. Tried hard when third on the heavy going at Forbes a month ago. Now with Brett Thompson and he should be strong late back to 1200m. EPIMETHEUS (3) will cut all the corners from the inside draw. Hasn't raced for 212 days but what we've seen in his brief career is good enough for this. Will give a sight but the last 100m will be a worry. RED BERYL (9) with winning form can't be overlooked. SELECTION: #1 Temple Run straight out.

Carnarvon: Race 3 @ 4:48pm (AEST)
Rhino's Lad can lead and Retribution won't be far away. RETRIBUTION (6) made a ratings spike missing a whisker-first-up for the new yard and then led and won easy at CL3 level as an even-money favourite. He draws to advantage and is in light with the claim and fitter can go right on with it. RHINO'S LAD (1) seeks the hat-trick off easy wins and can improve again. The 3kg claim remains handy and he will be hard to peg back again running along. BALMONT STUNNER (5) has placed both runs back and has more to give. He's well in the mix. SKY ATLAS (4) was good first-up but has been plain the two since. He peaks and expect a better run today. SELECTION: #6 Retribution is much improved and rates to win again on the quick return.
