Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for August 31.
Tamworth: Race 1 @ 1:40pm
Both Wanna Tweet and Taketheshot have the pace to push on and make the speed. RUBIC HONOUR (5) is ex Sydney and raced very new-just beaten as a well-bet favourite resuming for the Morgan yard. He draws well and can win this with Gibbons going on and improved race-manners. TAKETHESHOT (11) was good enough on debut riding the speed and is back with Thompson booked. He will clear the sticky gate okay and will be better and a player. VALAR DOHAERIS (6) was wide and just missed resuming and also deserves consideration. WANNA TWEET (14) ran on okay on debut and can fill a slot building on that. SELECTION: #5 Rubic Honour will have come on and should be winning.

Grafton: Race 3 @ 2:35pm
The Kroc likes to roll along. REAL TIME WARRIOR (1) had been tracking well and prepared to forgive the latest when he got too far back on a heavy track. He draws low today and can win on the good surface with a top jock going on. THE KROC (3) led and won easily on the heavy and then was only beaten 1.5L on the good at Taree. He's back after 10 days and should go close. MAQUINA VOLADORA (8) improved here two weeks ago and won't be far away with a repeat of that. RIVAL MO (6) was much better at Taree and is in the mix. SELECTION: Expecting #1 Real Time Warrior to bounce back into the winners stall.
Pakenham Synthetic: Race 9 @ 4:30pm
Billabong Bilby and Steel Choice can make the speed. GROOT (3) missed a lip resuming at even money and has more to give. He can stalk the speed and the 2kg claim is handy. The Stokes galloper is the one to beat. GOROKAN EXPRESS (2) won twice here and then made the hat-trick on the grass. The draw is sticky but expect him to find a bit more and be right in the finish. STEEL CHOICE (4) won't be far away forgiving the latest. Won here this grade the one before. BILLABONG BILBY (10) resumed in good order on the grass and has each way claims pushing into a forward position. SELECTION: Keen on #3 Groot.
