Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Albury, Muswellbrook, Ballarat, Ipswich & Northam.

Ballarat: Race 4 @ 3:00pm

Moderate tempo with Themagicneverends leading and a few others camping close at hand. QUEEN OF ROCKS (11) was good in the Group 2 before the spell and just missed resuming. She has more to give and clearly the one to beat with Pike sticking for a top yard. SCIACCA (3) is a former Kiwi resuming as a gelding for the Smith barn and has ability. He's been away for a long time but with Rodd booked expect him to be ready to go. The market will tell. WILLETTS (7) placed on the synthetic resuming and is improved. He draws well and the longer distance suits. THEMAGICNEVERENDS (6) was much better at Swan Hill and can jump cleaner today from the rail and likely control. He's a hope. SELECTIONS: #11 Queen Of Rocks should prove too good.

Muswellbrook: Race 2 @ 2:05pm

Not seeing a great deal of early speed. Putting SERIOUSNESS (14) on top. He's had the two career starts and hasn't had much luck. No closer than five wide throughout at Scone last start and was entitled to drop out further. Quickly up to 1500m on the back-up and he should run a much improved race. AKASAWA (12) debuts for Paul Messara. Fitted up for this off two trials and appeared to make nice improvement in the second of those. Sticky alley hurts but it would shock if he wasn't competitive. MILER (10) was placed at huge odds here two starts ago. Draws pole and can do better. UNDER THE PUMP (5) first-up isn't out of contention. SELECTIONS: Seriousness goes on top.

Ipswich: Race 4 @ 2:15pm

Moderate tempo and Hostile Star should be able to find the early lead. MONDENA (2) placed at Warwick and then improved again winning the Gold Coast Maiden this distance range. He peaks and can win again with Fradd going on for the sharp yard. STARLIGHTER (3) is also up in trip and won't be far away finding her best form. HOSTILE STAR (6) presents off the deserved Maiden win and can improve into the placings. WILLO TITTO (1) comes back to easier grade and expect her to be very competitive. SELECTIONS: #2 Modena can improve and win again.

Albury: Race 4 @ 3:05pm

Our Dreamsarefree has enough early speed to find the front but only at a moderate tempo. Giving OUR DREAMSAREFREE (1) another chance. He was beaten out of sight here first-up on the bottomless going. His form in NZ last campaign rates head and shoulders above these. Improving surface should help and happy to be with him. HIGH ADVICE (3) should be ready now after the two runs back. Didn't go a yard at Canberra last start on a day where if you weren't on the outside paint, you weren't winning. Trained locally and won't be far away with McDougall in the saddle. SNOWBROOK (5) is racing in great heart for Luke Pepper. Never in doubt at Narrandera last start, ticking the mile box in the process. Will cut all the corners from the inside alley but appears short enough at the current quote. SELECTIONS: Our Dreamsarefree straight out.

Northam Race 1 @ 3:12pm

Storm Thief may be the one to run them along. XAN BIO (6) improved just beaten at Pinjarra up to this distance range. Peaks now and the improver can go one better. BLACK WING (7) was much better at Belmont and the longer trip is likely to suit. Fitter she can get into the finish. STORM THIEF (3) placed in the Xan Bio race and then didn't get warm back to the mile at Belmont. He is better suited today on a 5-day return and is likely to run them along. MISS MARANTA (5) has been knocking on the door and gets another chance. SELECTIONS: #6 Xan Bio will be fitter and will take beating with the form hoop sticking.
