Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for September 30.
Randwick Kensington: Race 7 @ 5:30pm
Genuine tempo with Royal Marine leading the way. Host of chances to end the meeting, going wide in the quaddie would be wise. Lovely return ACROPHOBIC (12) at Warwick Farm. Gave Royal Marine and co a huge start and was going two to there one the last bit, winding up in third beaten a length. Remains at 1400m which is a small query but will have guaranteed speed upfront and the bigger track to his advantage. Still learning but want to be with him in this. ROYAL MARINE (3) with winning form over Acrophobic is clearly a threat. He's building a handy profile and is now a winner of his past three starts. Very underrated and will have plenty of admirers. GONE BYE (1) is back from a spell. Got to 1800m when last sighted. Any horse to lose to Yonkers in a photo is clearly up to midweek standard. Draws pole and will be in this for a long way. RATHVILLY MISS (11) and REGIMENTAL BAND (7) for the multiples. SELECTION: #12 Acrophobic to end on a high.

Gold Coast: Race 5 @ 3.31pm
Off the inside draw Deep Sceiva can bounce straight to the lead and set a solid tempo. DEEP SCEIVA (13) started even-money on debut over 1200m at Eagle Farm but could only finish third, beaten 1.3 lengths, after leading into the straight. Scratched from an earlier race to be kept for this. Should lead again today and only needs to exhibit a little natural improvement to take this out. PERNELL (9) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest over this distance at Eagle Farm. Very fit and perfectly drawn so looks certain to run well. SOUL DANCER (15) showed little early speed then hit the line well to finish fourth, beaten 3.5 lengths, over 1200m at Eagle Farm recently. Can sneak into the finish. SIZZLING RIVER (11) made a late dive but just missed over 1350m at Ipswich last start. Cherry-ripe after three runs back - do not dismiss. SELECTION: #13 Keen on Deep Sceiva.
Canberra: Race 6 @ 4:34pm
Solid tempo with several going forward and Supplyzing finding the lead. Another very competitive Federal at 70 level. CLEARLY REGAL (6) is lightly-raced and missed a nose resuming in the CL3 at Randwick and then things didn't go his way the same grade and venue back to a shorter sprint and forgiving that. He should be able to find a good spot and third-up this looks winnable. No knock on OUR FINVARRA (4) who belted home to win the corresponding event at the last meeting as a well-bet favourite. Is in a purple patch of form and Penza will give him every chance from the low gate. EXPRESS COURIER (1) resumes for the sharp yard off two wins over a middle distance with the latest this grade. Usually needs a run or two but McDougall's booking suggests he may be more forward this time around and the late market will tell. MNEMENTH (9) with the 6kg weight drop certainly has claims and MOOKAREENA (10) resuming is also in the mix. SELECTION: A sense of timing about #6 Clearly Regal and he gets the nod.
Ballarat: Race 8 @ 5:05pm
Genuine tempo with Zende likely to run them along. ZENDE (10) deserved the comfortable 64 win on the heavy and then disappointed on the good track at Sandown after and prepared to forgive that. Peaks now and will be hard to beat. BRILLIANT CONCEPT (1) resumes off much stronger race and expect him to be ready to go this time around. Gets the handy claim and the market will tell. CASSIUS (6) also resumes off better city races and no surprise if he's also presented forward. Gets Nolen and keep a very close eye on the market. MEGAMEA (11) got caught wide the latest but brought a win and near-miss to that hitting the line hard. Always needs a good ride but is up to winning this if she sees it right out. POLANCO (2) is a Listed performer who should be ready to show something third-up. SELECTION: Will back #10 Zende and will also play Megamea each way at the juicy odds.
