Australian thoroughbred meetings are today are held at Goulburn, Orange, Donald and Mackay.

Donald: Race 7 @ 4:30pm

Good early tempo with Rolls and Casino Fourteen likely to run them along. ROLLS (3) is fast and just missed second-up at Ballarat. He has plenty up the sleeve and looks well-placed to win in this line-up with the extra fitness and Yendall replacing the apprentice. PRIVATE LOUNGE (6) placed first-up in stronger grade and was good in town the two before that. She's an improved galloper with a sharp second-up record. YULONG PATROL (7) resumes for a star yard and is right up to this at best. Draws low and John Allen's booking is a decent push. Watch the market closely. MAXAWAY (9) has more to offer off the first-up win here. Had been gelded and three winners have come out of that. SELECTIONS: #3 Rolls wins at best and can find it.

Donald Computer Card - October 6

Orange: Race 5 @ 4.40pm

Strong tempo from Ritzy Diva, Motives and Egyptian Missile. EGYPTIAN MISSILE (2) was an impressive winner last time over 1200m at Bathurst, stalking the leaders to the bend then kicking right away to score by 2.5 lengths. Improving rapidly and will be tough to rein in again at just the third run of the campaign. RITZY DIVA (8) was in a different class last time, leading all the way to win by 3.8 lengths in a Wellington maiden over 1400m. Among the top chances again although this is a much tougher race. ROC DE KHAPER (10) came home strongly to finish third over 1280m at this track recently. Big price in early markets so worth an each-way ticket. LAST EIGHTYATE (7) won a maiden here last start and with Ryan sticking she cannot be underestimated. SELECTIONS: #2 Egyptian Missile to win again.

Goulburn Race 4 @ 4.20pm

Pressure on from the get-go as Dozer Bay, Greyt Weekend and Shanaya match motors. AZOUSTIC (1) will be hard to beat first up from a 28-week spell. Progressed well last prep, with the highlight a dominant maiden win over 1400m here. Settles back early but will love the hot tempo and can finish right over the top. Trainer John Bateman's strike rate with first-up runners is almost double his overall percentage. PRIVATE AGENT (2) resumes from a five-month spell. Only raced twice in the maiden campaign, with a dazzling 4.5 lengths all-the-way win on debut at Wagga the highlight. Placed in a recent Rosehill trial so looks ready to run well. ROZBURG (6) ran on stoutly for third over this distance at Wagga recently, making it two placings in a row. Sure to be involved in the finish on that form. SHANAYA (3) was a big winner at Wagga two back then finished midfield in a hot Highway at Randwick last time. Big chance in this more suitable contest. SELECTIONS: Private Agent is very short - #1 Azoustic each-way looks a very nice bet at double-figure odds.

Mackay Race 6 @ 5:40pm

Little early pressure engaged with Mr Tindall and Rockethead the most prominent from the jump. TA CHANSON (2) deserved the easy win here this grade and then came back at Open grade and missed a nose as favourite. The longer sprint shouldn't bother and he clearly rates to bounce back. MR TINDALL (5) has been busting to win and gets weight relief this grade. Comes back 200m on a 7-day return but is a serious player. PALLADIAN (1) has been racing in Open grade and will find this more suitable. Has to be kept onside. KEV'S LAD (7) brings Victorian form to resumption for the new yard and the late market will tell if he's ready to go. SELECTIONS: #2 Ta Chanson should have these covered.
