Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on October 11.
Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Sunday at Cranbourne, Hawkesbury, Sunshine Coast, Geraldton, Swan Hill, Coonamble and Penola.
Cranbourne: Race 9 @ 5:25pm
Looks a strong tempo with several going forward. CORDILLA (2) arguably should have won her last two starts when held up at a crucial stages. She was well supported on both occasions and excels at this distance range having won three from five attempts. She can notch a well deserved win here. ZOUSONIC (6) can be forgiven for last start and is suited back to this grade. Worth thought. HASSTOBEGOOD (7) caught the eye first up over an unsuitable trip and creates interest here having strong form in New Zealand. Don't take lightly. SELECTIONS: #2 Cordilla should bounce back, hard to beat.

Geraldton: Race 2 @ 5:30pm
Solid tempo with Bruny Island the likely leader. YAMATAI (4) is another strong winning chance for the hot Durrant yard. Has been busting to win and was heavily-bet the latest. Gets in light with the 2kg claim and should be winning. INVICTUS DOMINI (2) resumes off a string of near-misses and owns a 5.8L trial win this track. Keeps Pateman from that and he's a serious player with the blinkers applied first time. ATLANTIC RULER (5) raced equal favourite first-up but raced like he needed the run. Her best would have her go close and the longer sprint suits. BRUNY ISLAND (1) resumes and brings good figures from the back of the last campaign. Has been away for a while but has trialled twice and needs to be kept safe. SELECTION: Keen on #4 Yamatai.
Swan Hill Race 3 @ 1:25pm
Solid tempo anticipated. MALLEE BOY EXPRESS (4) has just missed both runs back and is ready for the longer sprint. He has more up the sleeve and the claimer will give him a soft run from the rail. Fitter he shapes as the one to beat. RED JEWELS (9) races handy and was better placing the latest in a stringer Maiden. She rates strongly getting close to peak fitness but managing the wide gate is a query. GOTTALUVJIMMY (2) raced 2-1 at Murtoa on debut and didn't have the best of it racing a bit new. He will have taken fitness and learning from that and draws well today with Coffey taking over the reins. No surprise to see quick improvement from this fellow. FLASH FREDDIE (7) hasn't been far away a few times and is in the mix drawn well. SELECTION: Backing #4 Mallee Boy Express to win.
Hawkesbury: Race 7 @ 4:55pm
Elani Rose expected to work to the lead at a strong tempo. This is a nice race for SO FAR AWAY (13). Ridden handier to the speed when placing to Darling Diamond on the Kensington last time out. She's got plenty of scope and with the drop in class it should give her every chance to break the maiden tag. ALL AT SEA (8) is on debut for the Freedman's. Latest hitout was comfortably her best. Forward type who should be kept under firm notice. ELANI ROSE (3) showed terrific early speed here last start before capitulating in the run home. Still on the up and can sneak a placing with a race fitness edge. MR GEE (7) best of the rest. SELECTION: #3 So Far Away straight out.
Sunshine Coast: Race 4 @ 2:45pm
Expecting the well fancied Federal Agent to set a strong tempo along with V J Day. FEDERAL AGENT (5) has come back in fine order. Led and ran them ragged here on resumption. This is a step up in grade but most of his rivals have met the ceiling of their respective careers. Holds nice scope and from the inside alley will give these something to catch. THUMBS UP (7) has been racing consistently the past month. Has a particular liking for this venue. Back from the mile is interesting but he's hard to rule out. V J DAY (2) just missed in open company last start. Well weighted with the claim for Patis. Genuine type who shouldn't be overlooked. ENTERPRISE JACK (4) best of the rest. SELECTION: #5 Federal Agent to win again.
