Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 12.

Gunnedah: Race 4 @ 3.15pm
Solid tempo headed by The Jaguar. THE JAGUAR (4) started at big odds on debut but ran a bold race, showing good dash to share the lead into the straight before finishing second and beaten 1.5 lengths over 1100m at Scone. Should be prominent in the run again and with natural improvement can easily go one better. PUMP IT UP (13) was expected to win last start at Armidale over 1100m but could only manage fourth after getting too far back. Has the blinkers added - can bounce back. FICSMM DAVE (1) is first up from a 23-week spell. Was about the mark in all three runs during the maiden campaign. Went close in a recent Scone trial so looks set for a bright return. Respect any money for the Brett Cavanough-trained debutante LAPSEKI (11). SELECTION: #4 The Jaguar looks well-placed to deliver the win.

Echuca: Race 9 @ 5.00pm
Strong early tempo with Kiata and Young Liam showing the way. KIATA (12) showed plenty the first preparation and resumes off a close-up placing in good race in better grade. She has the speed to make short work of the sticky gate and Pike's booking suggests she's on song. She makes strong appeal. CHASE AWARD (5) also has a good future and also resumes off a sharp effort in better company. He performs fresh and is likely to come back even better. YOUNG LIAM (1) also brings good figures to resumption and draws to control the race. Usually needs a run but no surprise if he's wound right up this time around. LLESSUR (15) makes the field and brings good form to resumption. Gets Lane and keep her very safe. SELECTION: #12 Kiata is promising and will take bearing.

Murwillumbah: Race 7 @ 5:25pm
Genuine pace with Daunting Warrior and Honorable Spirit running them along. DIVINE DIVA (2) has missed a lip both runs back and was favourite the latest. She's promising and should be winning for the leading yard from the handy draw. HONORABLE SPIRIT (3) is an ex Victorian who wasn't far off her best at Ipswich for the new yard. He will push forward and is a genuine player on the 10-day return. RUMBERELLA (13) resumed in good order for the new yard at Grafton and has plenty up the sleeve. Draws for a soft run and can make the finish. SPIRIT OF VAIN (8) is an improver who won't be far away with a good ride. SELECTION: ##2 Divine Diva will be near peak and rates to be winning.
