Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on October 14
Seven TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Warwick Farm, Caulfield, Hamilton, Ipswich, Ascot, Port Lincoln & Launceston.
Caulfield: Race 5 @ 3:45pm
Should get a true test at the trip with Lofty Heights and Eureka Street up there and Cadre Du Noir handy. SARACEN KNIGHT (7) ran really well fresh and then landed good bets second up scoring over 2000m at this track. Really strong win, powering at them late on, and looks like relishing the longer journey now. Hard to beat. CADRE DU NOIR (8) is racing well with a 5 length win at Sandown-Hillside two back then second at Rosehill last time. Slightly flat there but will do better. Should be camped just off the leaders and expected be in the finish. SIN TO WIN (1) ran a cracker fresh from a two months break and this trip suits better. Struggles to win but he keeps turning up and racing well. MASAFF (2) was not far away last time out finishing fourth over 1900m at Rosehill. Suited at the longer journey and looks a definite each-way hope. SELECTIONS: Saracen Knight looks a good horse in the making.

Hamilton: Race 3 @ 2:10pm
A number can race handy and the large field should run along okay. CAPTAIN CANUCK (11) needed the run first-up in a strong form Maiden and then went to Ballarat and was beaten a nose from the speed. He draws to advantage and fitter should be winning in this grade for the star yard. SPRING BREAK (6) resumes and is also in a leading barn. Raced favourite at the provincials both race-runs and the debut effort reads particularly well. The wide gate is the query. INNATE TALENT (4) debuts from a handy gate and is likely to have ability. Gets the senior hoop and keep a close eye on the late betting. ORCUS (13) is a stablemate to Spring Break and also interests on debut. The wide gate needs managing. SELECTIONS: #11 Captain Canuck is promising and can be winning with the race fitness.
Port Lincoln: Race 3 @ 2:20pm
Expecting a fast pace with I Got Strings, My Cat Ballou and Terelli leading the charge. TERELLI (8) runs along and is ready to win off the three placings. The provincial run two-back reads especially well and she draws to get every chance. ZARAFSHAN (9) resumed here in good order for the new yard on the heavy. The claimer will push forward and expect her to have come on and make the finish. ANJAH (2) led and just missed resuming on the same day over a longer sprint and has claims. DRESSMAKER (4) resumes off stronger provincial Maidens. Usually needs a run but is likely to be improved and is suited at this level. SELECTIONS: #8 Terelli peaks and is the one to beat.
Ipswich: Race 2 @ 2:40pm (AEDT)
TRACY MAY (7) ran on well first up for a 1.5 length second over 1050m at Toowoomba. Has a win and two placings from three second up attempts so will be improved and should enjoy the longer trip. Winning chance. DOLLY SPARTAN (3) finished second over 1200m at Gold Coast last time out and was a determined winner two back. Yet to miss a place this time in and is right in it again. INVIGORATING (4) was an Eagle Farm winner two back and won her only visit to this track. Also races well at this trip. Contender. INVINCORE (1) hasn't been far away in two starts since a spell. Respect. SELECTIONS: #7 Tracy May for the win second up.
Warwick Farm: Race 3 @ 3:00pm
Frozen In Time and Switched should be prominent. LET IT POUR (3) was a first up winner before finishing fourth at this track in what has since become a hot form race with five subsequent winners. A 3.3 length fifth to Alligator Blood in the Vo Rogue Plate last prep also reads strongly brought to midweek company. MILITARY MAGIC (1) placed on resuming at Canterbury over this distance. Will be fitter for the run and has won second up in the past. Low draw and 3kg claim additional positives. SWITCHED (2) performed below market expectations first up at Canterbury. Will at least be fitter for it and drops back to fillies and mares grade. Form last campaign was strong without winning. Expect improvement. FROZEN IN TIME (5) resumes. Worked through her grades last campaign which ended with placings at metropolitan level. SELECTIONS: Straight out Let It Pour.
Launceston: Race 6 @ 9:20pm
Genuine tempo with Knitting leading the way over War Correspondent. ASSARANCA (7) ran well here on debut and then won a trial before delivering the first-up Maiden win heavily-bet. Doubt this is much harder and she looks well-capable of repeating. UNINTERRUPTED (3) has been knocking on the door and impressed the latest just beaten after racing wide without cover. He's a hope at odds holding that form. WAR CORRESPONDENT (5) was just nudged out from the front following the first-up Maiden win. He has a future and fitter is also a chance. STEFANIDI (4) brings good form to resumption and draws well with a 3kg claim. Keep her safe. SELECTIONS: A good betting program. #7 Assaranca is a promising filly and can take the next step.
