Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on November 1.

Mornington Race 9 @ 5:35pm

Expecting Magnajet to lead Monsters Inc at an even tempo. MAGNAJET (1) only went down narrowly at this track over the short course two starts ago before finishing a good fourth in a hot form race at Moe won by Whipcracker Way giving weight. He's nicely in after the claim and appeals on an each way basis. MONSTERS INC (6) is lightly raced and progressive. He ended last preparation with a good second to Bless Her in this distance range before recording a narrow win last start when first up. He can use this as a stepping stone to better races. BRAZEN SONG (10) races well at the track and has placed at both first up runs in the past. Respect. LUNAKORN (3) will get back in the run which may be a disadvantage at this this track but her best is more than good enough to take this out. CHEVALIER D'EON (9) has a good first up record and can add value to the exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: Magnajet appeals each way.

Goulburn Race 7 @ 4:50pm

Fast early pace with Peyton Place showing out while Man Of Peace will try to cross them all from the outside gate. Strong field assembled for the Goulburn Cup again this year. HANDLE THE TRUTH (2) is primed third-up. Lost no admirers when attempting to defend his Kosciusko crown last start behind It's Me. Loomed to win but the torrid run in transit from the wide alley pulled him up late. Not used to seeing him beyond 1200m but his class should take care of that. Nash Rawiller's only ride for the day is a big push. CHAT (6) was terrific in the Silver Eagle, crossing the line with Alligator Blood. Gunned down the smart Mr Mosaic at Canterbury prior to that. Versatile in where he settles and gets a nice weight drop on a few of the heavyweights. This looks a target race for NOBLE BOY (3). Greets this on fresh legs (as oppose to last year) and should land in the perfect stalking role. SOLDIER OF LOVE (5) next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Handle The Truth. 

Innisfail Race 6 @ 4:35pm

A number of them push forward with Sizzling Sun and Our Chiquilla the most prominent. DON'T DOUBT LARA (2) has been racing in stronger grade and was just nudged out 10 days ago at Rockhampton. The bar plates come off and she's the one to beat with Wiggins sticking. CANDY GIRL (8) was wide and worked to lead winning the 55 and then just missed at the mile. She draws well and will get her chance to bounce back. POETIC ATTACKS (7) just missed at Townsville and was also good there the one before. Peaks now and can make the finish. OUR CHIQUILLA (1) was beaten a lip two-back at Cairns in better grade and that reads well. She's a hope with a return to that. SIZZLING SUN (6) led and won easily in the bush and won't be far away back a touch in trip. SELECTION: #2 Don't Doubt Lara looks well-placed. 

Mt Barker Race 2 @ 5:55pm

Expecting Worzel to find the lead with pressure over the short sprint. CITY INVASION (1) placed 2/3 at Pinjarra the first preparation and there was only a whisker in it on debut. He will have come on and has had a trial warmer. He gets the handy 2kg claim and is sure to take beating. TROODLES (4) wasn't beaten far at Northam 52 days ago showing her best form since coming west. She's trialled well since and should manage the shorter sprint. TOSCANA (10) debuts and owns an Albany trial win. Needs a good ride but looks to have plenty of ability. Ditto HOTZILLA (9) who debuts from a low gate and looked good trialling on the same day. SELECTION: #1 City Invasion sets a decent standard.
