Flemington: Race 7 @ 3:00pm
Persan will look to get across from out wide on the tail of Dashing Willoughby. Does Tiger Moth go with them? McEvoy has a decision to make there. Finche and Vow And Declare will use good draws along with others and, all that considered, we should get a true test in the Cup of 2020. TIGER MOTH (21) draws right out and that may trick things up but it gives them options with him and he looks sure to relish going to two miles now in a race that he has been targeted towards by the world's leading stable. Big run in the Irish Derby at just his third start and then won a really competitive Group 3 last time to lock up a spot here. Profiles like the one they have to beat. SIR DRAGONET (5) got better the further they went in the Cox Plate. Won a test of stamina there and rating gives him a massive look here if he can take it to two miles. RUSSIAN CAMELOT (15) comes off the same race with a great chance. Still on the up and a terrific talent. VERRY ELLEEGANT (7) starred at Caulfield. Grand mare that would love some rain. ASHRUN (18) may get too far back but he stays powerfully. Look for him storming at the line late on. SELECTIONS: Backing Tiger Moth to overcome the wide barrier and give Aidan O'Brien another of racings biggest prizes.

Randwick: Race 3 @ 1:40pm
Despite the large number of scratchings still expect a solid tempo. KIKU (12) was very good in both starts during her maiden preparation and creates plenty of interest fresh for the Waller stable. Sole trial in the lead up was very good and she's drawn to receive all the favours. Rates top and looks hard to beat. Stablemate CAT D'ORO (1) was narrowly beaten twice before a break and looms as a major threat with Nash booked. She too has trialled well and looms as a major threat. ONCHAO (5) has showed good ability at the trials and has to be kept safe on debut for the Mark Newnham stable, while CROSS THE RUBICON (10) also holds claims in her return. SELECTIONS: Keen on the fresh #12 Kiku.
Canberra: Race 4 @ 2:30pm
No noted leader and the speed may come from the wider drawn. DAKSHA (1) brought strong provincial from to resumption and was just beaten as favourite. He'd trialled well into that and fitter is clearly the one to beat with Ward using the low gate. KERMATIN (15) was in the market on debut and got too far back. The leading local yard will have him fitter and McDougall stays with him - and he would have had choices. NAMARARI (3) has just missed the last two and they stack up. Coming back to a sprint is a slight query. FIVE STAR MISS (10) is a local and she resumes off four solid race-day efforts. Expect her to be come back better but the wide gate requires a good ride. SELECTIONS: This looks a nice progression for the Widdup-trained #1 Daksha.
Doomben: Race 9 @ 6:25pm (AEDT)
BEACHBREAK (8) is racing well having put together back to back placings after scoring at this track when resuming. Kept chasing when a 1.3 length third at Gold Coast last time. Yet to miss the placings at the course or the distance and at his peak. Winning chance. OUR FRAULEIN (12) ran on and proved too strong when she scored a 0.8 lengths maiden win at Ipswich last start over today's distance. Fitter again third up and could go on with it. TOOMAI (5) ran on hard to miss by a head at this track and trip last start. That made it back-to-back placings following a Gold Coast win. Should be involved again. EXPLOSIVE QUALITY (10) placed last start after kicking off her campaign with two wins. Has to be respected. SELECTIONS: #8 Beachbreak has the form on the board. Backing to win.
