Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for November 6.
Warrnambool Race 3 @ 2:30pm
No noted leader and Njord could well find himself in front. AZNAVOUR (8) just missed at Ballarat on debut as favourite and impressed. Was backed again there after on the heavy and disappointed after a slow off. Fitter now and John Allen's booking is a decent push. Gets the winkers first time and should be winning in this line up. SPRING BREAK (7) missed a lip resuming for the sharp yard and has more to give. Draws wide but the longer trip will suit and she's a genuine winning chance. DONDESKA (11) was better here 22 days ago and has more up the sleeve. He's a decent hope with a good ride. NOBEL HEIGHTS (9) got too far back resuming and will be better for it. Expect the colt to finish much closer. SELECTION: #8 Aznavour has shown enough to win this with the extra fitness and learning.

Kempsey: Race 7 @ 4:50pm
Expecting Mister Smartee to take up the running at a genuine tempo. ASUDEM (3) is ready to strike. Three runs this campaign have all been terrific, and in better company. 1450m suits and he has a sense of timing about his chances. Bullock has a good affinity aboard the five year old. CHAMISAL (1) produced a strong finish over the mile last start, winning at Taree. Queries on him coming back in distance given he leaves his run very late. Hard to knock winning form. EDITORS (5) was third to Chamisal most recently. Form clearly easy to tie in. 2/2 at Kempsey and can turn the tables with even luck. MO THE GREAT (4) and SUNNY ST CLOUD (12) both have place chances. SELECTION: #3 Asudem gets the nod.
Rockhampton Race 6 @ 4.57pm (AEDT)
Genuine tempo as Volum leads the way over Pound For Pound. CAVELLTON (3) resumes from a 27-week spell. Has won twice from five previous first up runs. Struggled to make his mark last prep in better races than this so the step back in grade this time in work looks a good move. Four-time winner at this circuit so from a good gate everything points towards a bright return. Track specialist POUND FOR POUND (6) returns from a four-month break. Won a couple of races here against open class three-year-old company back in May. Went extra-well a recent trial so looks ready to return in good order. DEFENCE MISSILE (1) was handy in the run and battled on fairly for sixth last start, beaten just 2.3 lengths at Doomben over 1200m. Has a massive weight to shoulder but is down significantly in grade. Hard to beat. HURRICANE FIGHTER (5) is an ex-Victorian first up from a 73-day break. Opened last prep with a good third over 1112m at Geelong in a Bm70. Consistent gelding when right. His best form would be good enough to take this out. SELECTION: This looks a nice race for #3 Cavellton first up - back him each-way at the double-figure odds.
Cranbourne: Race 1 @ 5:30pm
It's not clear-cut who will run the fillies along. JEEHAAN (5) wasn't beaten far on debut and then found one too good at Moe finishing strongly after being three-wide without cover. Impressed in that and can go one better for a star yard drawn to advantage. PAPARAZZI QUEEN (6) is also in good hands and just missed at Sale and then didn't run on as favourite at Pakenham. She's a serious player forgiving that and fitter. CHAWINDA (4) debuts from a low gate and profiles well. Gets the senior hoop and keep a close eye on the market. SEMILLA (8) was slow off and just outmuscled late here and will be better for it. Gets the rail and won't be far away. SELECTION: Think the promising #5 Jeehaan can knock over the favourite.
Sunshine Coast: Race 6 @ 9.45pm (AEDT)
MAGNATE (12) ran a good race fresh when a 0.4L third then started favourite but was out of the money last time over 1400m. Led and headed off late last time so may do better back in journey. Worth another chance. ONE MORE PINOT (16) placed first up and has been within 3L of the winner at both runs since. The addition of blinkers could give him the lift he needs. MARCHEKY BOY (6) gave a sight when beaten 1.5 lengths at Ipswich over 1200m. Expected to run well third up. SELECTION: #12 Magnate is suited back in trip. Backing to win.
