Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on November 13
Eight TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Ballina, Canterbury, Gundagai, Kyneton, Moonee Valley, Emerald, Sunshine Coast & Port Lincoln.
Gundagai: Race 6 @ 4:30pm
No obvious leader with the scratching of Dezzy putting the slows on the early speed in this contest. EXOTIC DEEL (10) is comfortably the most talented horse in this line-up. Win first-up at Canberra was full of merit and she needed that for her confidence after chalking up placings in three of her last four last time in. Never runs a bad race and is a deserving favourite, and despite the wide alley sometimes you have to gravitate towards the best horse. ONS VIER (7) hasn't won for well over a year. Not far off Mookareena in BM70 grade most recently. Big drop in class but hard to know where she stands. Watch the market. IMITATION GAME (5) was tried at the mile for the first time last start and he failed. Hard fit and will be saved for one shot at them. SELECTIONS: Exotic Deel should take beating.

Emerald: Race 1 @ 2:55pm AEDT
Not seeing a great deal of early speed. FIZZ (8) was sixth last start over 1500m at Rockhampton, beaten 4.3 lengths, at the third run of the campaign. Very fit now and this is far softer opposition than she has faced so far this time in work. Will box-seat out of the inside gate - the race sets up well for her. GREAT BRAVE (3) has been in the placings at his last two starts, most recently when second at Charleville over 1100m. In good form without winning - gets his chance. VENTURES BENIR (7) finished a close second last time at Barcaldine over today's journey. Lightly raced gelding who will be further improved. ESPEREUS (2) closed off strongly last start when third, beaten 1.2 lengths, over 1100m at Yeppoon. That was the first run in four months so can progress. SELECTIONS: #8 Fizz looks well-placed in this company. Confident win bet to kick off the card.
Kyneton: Race 6 @ 3:20pm
A solid pace with Picardy showing the way from Yatta Izu. PICARDY (1) surprised the market winning easily on debut on the heavy. Impressed in that and will race handy again from the low gate. Keeps Ben Allen and looks capable of repeating wet or dry. RED CRACKER (5) finished solidly winning the 58 comfortably on resumption as favourite much improved. She then jumped to 70 grade and it was a step too far. Fitter now and a bounce is likely. DEMES SPIRIT (7) was tracking well before the last two and has been freshened. Mott goes on and expect her to be very competitive. EVER LOVED A WOMAN (12) peaks and has been knocking on the door. She won't be far away. SELECTIONS: Picardy has a future and is suited around here.
Port Lincoln: Race 8 @ 7:10pm
Off the low draw expecting the speedy Maiden Grace to lead the way at a genuine tempo. MAIDEN GRACE (9) raced away for a nice win first-up off provincial form. Led in that and then again when beaten a lip as a well-bet favourite in the 54. Draws low with a 3kg claim and will take beating at the weights and fitter. STAR PARFAIT (3) ran along first-up in stronger grade and just battled the last 50m. She has more to give and gets a handy gate and the blinkers first time. BEDLOE'S ISLAND (6) beat the above in that contest making good improvement. Peaks now but the wide gate makes it tougher. SCARY GO ROUND (7) finds easier and won well three-back. Fitter and won't be far away at a big price with a good ride. SELECTIONS: #9 Maiden Grace can win back.
Moonee Valley: Race 6 @ 8:00pm
Expecting a strong tempo with Lord Bouzeron running them along. HUMBLE PIE (3) is ex NZ and just missed first-up for the new yard gelded and much improved. He then spiked again beaten a lip here this grade and distance. He's a promising galloper drawn well and fitter he can go one better. DESERVED (7) had been threatening before recording the big win at this level at Benalla. That stacks right up and he's a serious player with the 3kg claim. ENRICO PALLAZZO (8) will very competitive finding his best and forget the latest in Adelaide. One to include at a price. LORD BOUZERON (1) gets a 3kg claim and will use the low gate. He's capable and gets some more gear tweaks to encourage his best. SELECTIONS: #3 Humble Pie profiles well.
Canterbury: Race 7 @ 9:15pm
PHOENIX GLOBAL (10) makes his stable debut after a 2020 where he has so far raced in Victoria for two stables. New trainer Brad Widdup strikes at more than 21% with horses making their stable debut for the Hawkesbury stable. Possesses good early speed and that combined with barrier 1 around Canterbury generally is a recipe for success. CATAPULT (8) has placed in his past four starts, the latest on the Kensington over 1300m. Consistent, well drawn and the claim helps. ZOUOLOGIST (7) is consistent and appeals third run from a spell. SELECTIONS: Straight out Phoenix Global.
