Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on December 9
Seven TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Warwick Farm, Sandown, Terang, Ipswich, Ascot, Balaklava & Launceston.
Warwick Farm: Race 2 @ 2:55pm
Race loses anticipated leader with the scratching of Oasis King. JIMMY'S DREAM (1) resumes. Has been given time to mature since a two start maiden prep where he ran second in both outings. Has made late ground in each of his trials this prep. Booking of James McDonald is an interesting one who doesn't often ride for the Waterhouse/Bott stable. Combined with the stable just four times last season for two wins. DANCE (3) is of interest in his stable debut for Bjorn Baker. Resumes as a gelding and stable has a knack with getting tried horses to fire. MOUNT FUJI (4) next elect off a generous spell. Should be forward enough if good enough following three trials so far this prep. SELECTIONS: Siding with Jimmy's Dream.

Terang: Race 2 @ 2:30pm
Reforestation can find the lead and set an average tempo. MAGNETIC JEWEL (12) came from the back to miss 1L here resuming and impressed. He has more up the sleeve and can take this out fitter and getting a soft run from the rail. LOVANO (2) is third-up and ready to win. Will find this easier than Pakenham and is drawn to get the run of the race. REFORESTATION (4) raced wide without cover when beaten 3L at Kyneton and will have taken learning and fitness from that. Gets a handy gate and can lift again. RUDHYAR (5) will be better for the debut run at Geelong where he didn't handle the run down the hill. Quick improvement won't surprise. SELECTIONS: #12 Magnetic Jewel is a bet at the each way quote.
Balaklava: Race 3 @ 3:25pm
Tuff Cat may be the one to lead over the middle distance. SHEBRINGZIT (6) missed a lip before coming to this trip and won comfortably as expected. Impressed in that and can go right on with it. BACK POCKET (1) got too far back in town the latest and was wide and best to go on the lip defeat prior at The Parks. Gets the blinkers off again and can win this without surprising. FAST DEALER (2) is a former Queenslander who's placed both run for the new yard. He should run it out okay and make the finish. TUFF CAT (3) will try hard and may be next best. SELECTIONS: #6 Shebringzit can win again reaching peak fitness.
Ipswich: Race 4 @ 4:20pm (AEDT)
REBEL ROCK (5) has been thereabouts without winning so far this campaign, the latest beaten less than 2L over 1350m at this track. Race fit now and is expected to be tough to stop. ZOUCARA (8) caught the eye when resuming with a fast-finishing second over 1350m at this track. Fitter and suited by the increase in journey. Threat from a good draw. SUGAR BUZZ (1) is in good form scoring by a head at this track last time, his second success from his past four runs. Must respect. LI'L RODGE (6) has been racing well and has to be respected. SELECTIONS: #5 Rebel Rock looks ready to win.
Sandown: Race 7 @ 7:00pm
Hard 'N' Tough and Anirishman have enough dash to take up the running. SPRING BREAK (13) missed a lip twice before delivering the big mile win at Hamilton as expected. The longer trip suits and he can improve again and takes the next step. ANIRISHMAN (4) is also in a sharp yard and has won and just missed the last two. Is drawn to ride the pace again and no surprise to see him bounce. AUSTRATA (10) won the Maiden and then was just pipped this grade at The Valley up to the mile. Draws well with the blinkers on first time and is a definite player. HARD 'N' TOUGH (1) returned to racing improved beaten a nose at The Valley behind Night Witches at 70 level against her own sex. Needs a good ride but the 3kg claim brings her right into it. SELECTIONS: #13 Spring Break may have an edge in a good contest.
Launceston: Race 5 @ 8:15pm
Expecting plenty of early pressure from Freelancer and One Lotto. LE CADEAU (1) finished the race off well to get up for fourth last start at this track over 1200m. Tackles this journey for the first time but indications are it will suit. Very fit after two runs back and is sure to go well. WARRIOR PRINCE (2) is a promising youngster who resumed with a closing second over 1200m here when well supported. Has only raced twice in a prep once before, scoring here when second up in the maiden campaign. Should relish getting out to 1400m. ASSARANCA (8) booted up from a low draw and led all the way to score by a long neck at this track and distance recently. Definite winning hope with a similar performance this evening. FREELANCER (7) was fourth when resuming last start over 1200m at this track. Kept fresh since that outing seven weeks back. Has plenty of scope for improvement. SELECTIONS: Quality race. Keen on #1 Le Cadeau at the each-way odds.
