Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on December 18
Seven TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Goulburn, Yarra Valley, Moonee Valley (night), Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast (night), Geraldton & Morphettville.
Moonee Valley: Race 3 @ 7:30pm
Solid tempo with Tycoon Bec striding forward. TYCOON BEC (3) led all the way to score on debut at Kyneton over 1450m recently, sprinting quickly when asked to put 4.5 lengths on the nearest rival. Expected to go to the next level this evening and looks the one to beat. PALACIO MUSICO (2) recorded a gutsy maiden success last time out over 1400m at Wodonga, getting there narrowly in a driving finish. Meets a much tougher line-up this time but he continues to improve and is sure to make his presence felt. BOSSDOM (1) has kicked his career off in good style, recording a win and a minor placing before closing well to grab fourth over 1400m at Werribee last time. Genuine and will run well again. REDISSENT (5) gapped a maiden field over 1400m at Werribee last time by 3.3 lengths. Harder here but cannot be underestimated. SELECTIONS: #3 Tycoon Bec is very smart and can win again.

Goulburn: Race 3 @ 3:00pm
Not a great deal of apparent early pace. THINKING CAP (4) has returned in good order. Came from behind to win at Gosford on resumption. Jumped favourite in a BM64 most recently and was game in defeat when beaten less than a length. Trending the right way. She's got more scope than her rivals and looks a leading player in this line-up. SEDONA (2) second-up is in the game. He found the line well behind El Cohete at Warwick Farm three weeks ago. Winning strike rate isn't great but he'll strip fitter and his best form is over 1200m. Threat. CUBMAN (1) was a big winner with the 61kg at Canberra three weeks ago. He's yet to prove himself at 1200m but has claims with winning form. ILVERMORNY (7) deserves thought for the minor money. SELECTIONS: Thinking Cap straight out.
Yarra Valley: Race 7 @ 4:30pm
Raise 'Em Up and Grindelwald have good early speed and they will run along. BELLOWS (16) reaches peak fitness and is a lot better than the form line suggests. Found the trip a bit far heavily-bet at Geelong and then had excuses the latest also running favourite. Gets a soft run from the rail and this is his chance. GRINDELWALD (3) led clearly first-up but folded late and then was much to good for the Maidens at Wodonga as a hot favourite. Draws to control the race and fitter he looks capable of taking the next step. RAISE 'EM UP (2) will push forward from the sticky gate and there was a lot to like about the near-miss at Sale. Has been freshened and is a decent chance with average luck. RUSHFORD (4) deserved the Mornington win this grade and then didn't have much luck after in stronger than this. Best with some cut in the ground but should go well regardless. SELECTIONS: Bellows is the bet at the each way quote.
Morphettville: Race 2 @ 4:50pm
Small field with Smiling Assassin finding the front comfortably at a moderate tempo. SMILING ASSASSIN (2) got some gear changes and just missed resuming over 1500m. He has more up the sleeve and the longer sprint suits. Keeps Pannell and is clearly the one to beat. BATTLE BLITZ (3) got close in a sprint third-up and will be suited by the longer journey. In good hands and will get every chance. DISS 'N' DAT (4) improved just beaten at Balaklava at the mile when he led. A hope building on that. GLENARCH BAY (5) missed a nose in the same race and also has claims. SELECTIONS: Keen on Smiling Assassin.
