Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on December 22
Three TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Tuesday at Lismore, Geelong & Townsville.
Lismore: Race 8 @ 5:55pm
Demykani Miss should press forward and control proceedings. DEMYKANI MISS (3) chased hard last time at Coffs Harbour over 1000m when narrowly beaten in soft going. Yet to be tested on a heavy track but has placed at the last two in soft ground. Likely to dominate up front after the scratchings took a lot of the pace out of the race - will be very hard to reel in. TIME TO TARGET (13) has only raced twice, the latest effort seeing sharp improvement when second on a soft track at Coffs Harbour over 1200m. Progressive type who seems to enjoy the sting out of the ground and can go one better. THE ACTRESS (8) found 1000m a bit sharp when resuming but got to the line well enough to finish just behind the placegetters at Coffs Harbour. Will take a lot from that run and finds a more suitable assignment today. Still a maiden after 17 runs so each-way the best option. SAFELY HOME (12) ran an even race to finish fifth when resuming last start at Ballina over 1010m. Likely improver. SELECTIONS: Agree with the betting that this is a race in two. #3 Demykani Miss gets the right run up on the pace - happy to be with her.

Geelong: Race 5 @ 3:30pm
Bekstar and Jimenez can run them along. JIMENEZ (9) runs along and go on the big heavy-track Maiden win two back. Was swamped here late after that and will be further improved. BEKSTAR (6) races handy and made good improvement winning the Maiden comfortably at Ararat. Keeps the in-form John Allen and rock hard fit should go close. ELOPE TO VEGAS (16) has placed the last two and should handle the conditions. Fit and is a player. ATONE (5) resumes with Callow on and is up to this. Should be right in the finish. SELECTIONS: #9 Jimenez is suited and looks a bet on a tough day.
Townville: Race 7 @ 6:20pm
A number are capable of leading a good tempo. LANGHRO (1) led and won the Cairns Open by 3.5L on a quick return to form. He has more up the sleeve and has a good third-up record. Gets the handy 2kg claim and is the one to beat. POLAR BLAST (3) just missed at Cairns over a shorter sprint getting back to his best. The longer trip shouldn't bother and he should go close drawn low on the 7-day return. DALON (4) was just beaten in the Open here second-up running along and draws low again. Has more to give and fitter also presents as a winning chance. REVENIRE (6) won that race and no knock on that. Gets a soft run from the rail and is a player as well. SELECTIONS: #1 Langhro rates to be winning.
