Orange: Race 1 @ 2:00pm

Strong early tempo from Soldier's Desire and The Khan.SOLDIER'S DESIRE (14) was strong on pace last time at Hawkesbury over 1300m but found one better. Fitter for two runs back from a spell and will find this a far easier assignment. Ready to go one better today. SHOCK ZONE (16) was well fancied first up over 1200m at Canberra but couldn't quite get into the frame in a busy finish. Will find this trip more to his liking. Ready to run well. DOM TYCOON (2) has been racing well and is close to a win, the latest effort a good second at Scone over 1300m. Progressive gelding perfectly placed out to 1400m. NARRATED (13) is a first starter from the Maher/Eustace yard who is worth monitoring for market support. SUGGESTED PLAY: This is a perfect race for #14 Soldier's Desire.

Corowa: Race 4 @ 3:25pm

Intercontinental and Halo Warrior to go forward. ROCK THE RING (1) takes on much easier company here today from the run at Flemington last start. That should be enough to see him good enough here. Then to beat. HALO WARRIOR (3) scored at Albury last start. Looks like being well fancied here on the back of that but fancy Rock The Ring proves a major stumbling block. CHARMING PAT (4) steps up to 1300 metres which should suit. SUGGESTED PLAY: Rock The Ring the win.

Kerang: Race 6 @ 4:20pm

Strong early tempo as Costa Maya and You're So Natural lead the way over Classic Bright and Goldenrod. RED CRACKER (7) turned in an eye-catching run at Benalla last time, charging home to finish third. Is going to appreciate the extra ground this time and is expected to be in the finish. YOU'RE SO NATURAL (2) ran below expectations last time when tiring in the run home. Is better than that effort indicates and can bounce back here. EASY SHERIFF (6) is a model of consistency and is deserving of another victory. Certainly gets that chance in this line up. COSTA MAYA (5) ran well in town two starts back before having little luck at Yarra Valley last time and is well worth another chance in this contest. SUGGESTED PLAY: Something on Red Cracker.

Pinjarra: Race 6 @ 6:40pm

POWERFUL FORCE (5) started the heavily supported favourite on debut over 1100m at Bunbury, but failed to fire a shot when beaten 5 lengths. Obviously much better than that and expecting sharp improvement here out to 1400m. MAIN ENGINE (10) thereabouts last time over 1200m at this track and should be at top now. Having first attempt over this journey but gets chance to show best. GINGER BAKER (2) missed the frame when resuming over 1200m at this track but wasn't far from the winner. Can improve and has to be respected. MISTARR VISTARR (7) is a Rogano gelding out of the mare Starry Starry Rose who is on debut. Looks well educated with three trials and is worth keeping safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sticking with Powerful Force.
