Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on January 3.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings today are held at Sunshine Coast, Gilgandra, Ballina, Sale, Benalla and Bunbury.
SALE: RACE 7 @ 4:30PM
Solid tempo as Ooroo takes the lead but plenty of pressure hot on her heels. Office Jim (3) has found his best form this preparation being kept to sprint trips with his runs spaced. He handles give in the ground and looks well placed to return to the winners circle here. SACRED LEGACY (11) is lightly raced and progressive. She resumed from a spell last start with a narrow win as favourite and can go close again here as she works her way through her grades. Keep safe. CRESTANI (8) resumed with an even effort in town last start behind a handy type. With added fitness and a good draw he can figure in the finish. CREATIVE LAD (1) was a winner second up last preparation and if he can navigate an awkward draw he has to be respected. GALACTIC EXPRESS (6) gets the Blinkers off resuming and is worth including in exotics despite this trip being short of his best. SELECTIONS: Office Jim can bounce back

BALLINA: RACE 6 @ 4:25PM
Strong early tempo with several going forward but expecting Game Set Match and Pittsburgh Phil to eventually work their way to the lead. Stella Reale (9) was beaten in the final few strides at Murwillumbah last start. She's still on the improve and will look the winner once again. VOLFONI (4) is busting to win a race. Closed off strongly when runner-up to Fast Thinker at the Gold Coast three weeks ago. This is much easier and the wide draw should be easily offset by his get back racing pattern. Gets on well with Kilner and this is his chance to shine. ATYAAF (1) and NICHOLAS ADAM (6) best of the rest. SELECTIONS: Win bet Stella Reale.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 5 @ 4:00PM
Moderate tempo as Genuine Al strolls to the front and a few others camping close at hand. Redstone (2) has shown continued improvement this campaign, highlighted by his latest win. Has a win and three placings at this journey from seven starts and is sure to go close if runs up to mark. IGOR (6) ran a bold race over this journey when resuming at the Gold Coast, leading for much of the way and boxing on strongly. Likely to go forward and looks tough to beat on latest effort. GENUINE AL (1) failed to threaten fresh here but did show ability with debut win. Fitter this time and must be considered. SHADYVALE STAR (5) doesn't win too often but recent performances have been sound and is worth thought in this line up. SELECTIONS: Backing Redstone follow up.
