Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on January 21
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Tamworth, Kilmore, Pakenham, Eagle Farm & Pinjarra.
EAGLE FARM: RACE 3 @ 2:55 PM
SCOTTISH MIST (5) was strong to the line when placed at Doomben on resumption. She's a very consistent mare who should benefit with the race fitness. Her form last preparation was faultless. Hard to beat. ZOULOU DANCER (4) resumes off a lengthy spell. She lost her way last campaign and the spell would've done her good. Has ability and expecting a better performance from the inside gate with fresh legs. HALLOWED GIRL (7) was a beaten favourite in the small field at the Gold Coast before a break. She's better suited over a shade further and the lack of speed won't help her but she's expected to be doing her best work late. ZOUCARA (6) hasn't won for awhile but he's race fit. ABB ROY (2) best of the rest. SELECTIONS: Scottish Mist for the win.

KILMORE: RACE 7 @ 4:30 PM
JUST STELLAR (2) looks like one of the better chances of the day. Can close off well and is a winner here which counts. MISS ELENA (3) is at the right stage of the prep to go well. Not far off despite mixing the placings of late so can't discount as a main hope. MAGIC MISTRESS (5) has been consistent this prep. Might present value even thought it has gone around at bigger prices recently. EVER LOVED A WOMAN (4) is a hard one to line up with mixed form. Has had excuses but can go in trifectas. ONE LITTLE KISS (1) is likely to need the run this time but given that it won it's maiden first-up last prep can't be left out. SELECTIONS: Just Stellar the win.
PINJARRA: RACE 5 @ 3:40PM
VANE TEMPEST (8) won on debut and then came off a 9L Lark Hill trial win to lead and win the Maiden easily this track. Was heavily-bet and the promising filly can go right on with it. IN THE BOAT (2) won a string of trials and led and won by a space on debut at Bunbury. Draws well with Harvey going on and will get every chance to repeat. CRASH HAT LADY (6) got some gear changes and was back to his best beaten 1L this level surprising the market. He won't be far away holding that form. NOBELLITY (7) led and won the Maiden third up and draws to ride the speed with a 3kg claim. Can make the first-four building on that. SELECTIONS: Keen on Vane Tempest.
TAMWORTH: RACE 8 @ 5:30 PM
THE NEON KNIGHT (12) looks an impressive type. She's put her rivals to the sword with relative ease in both runs back. She's got the outside alley and this is a step-up but while she's in this vein of form there's no reason to jump off. AUNTIE MONNIE (11) showed good potential in her initial campaign. She's a five year old so clearly had some issue along the way. Will need a good ride from an inexperienced rider but she'll take some beating. EXPELLABLE (8) has been honest this campaign. Has a fitness edge and should get a nice run throughout. Not the worst. PRIMAL SCREAM (10) and CASSY'S SISTER (3) best of the rest. SELECTIONS: The Neon Knight to win again.
PAKENHAM: RACE 7 @ 9:00PM
HE'S A BALTER (5) didn't have much luck at Cranbourne beaten 1.7L and then got back again and was wide there going under by a short-half-head. Needs a good ride again but he rates strongly off the latest and will be tough to beat. MOEEN (12) just missed twice before being caught four and five wide at Caulfield and best to forget. Nolen goes on and he will be looking to give the mare a soft run from the rail. Peaks now and is a decent chance. GINA LOLA (3) led beaten a nose first-up at Sandown this level and then started at big odds at Flemington and didn't get warm in much stronger. This suits better and Lane's booking is a decent push. She has the speed to manage the wide gate. OFFICE JIM (4) was just beaten as favourite at Sale in the heavy and has comparable dry-track figures. Draws out but won't be far away racing at peak. BLUE OCEAN (2) resumes as a gelding for a form yard and is a market watch. SELECTIONS: Backing He's A Balter.
