Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB thoroughbred meetings on February 18.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Newcastle, Pakenham, Doomben, Warrnambool, Geraldton, Grafton and Kingscote.
NEWCASTLE: RACE 1 @ 1:25 PM
MISS BOSETTI (1) had been plying her trade in Victoria before resuming at Warwick Farm first-up. Whilst finishing last there she was only three lengths off a smart one. Is one from one second up and drawn perfectly in gate one over the 900m scamper. Should be winning. EMBELLER (2) is first-up after a lengthy break and has placed first-up before. Has had two handy trials in preparation for this and can finish in the frame. DRAGON'S BEAUTY (5) is still a maiden after 19 starts but her last two seconds have been good and she has placed over the track and trip. One for the multiples. DOZER BAY (4) has only finished out of the top four once in five starts and can feature again. HONEY ELYSEES (6) has placed this track and distance and may earn some minor money.

PAKENHAM: RACE 4 @ 7:30 PM
I AM BEAUTIFUL (9) has returned this campaign in excellent fashion, filling a place at both outings. Ideally suited by the rise in trip and is expected to give this a shake. ROUSSEAU (8) returned from a break with a solid effort here a fortnight ago. The rise in distance is a plus and a forward showing is on the cards. AGE OF INFINITY (3) caught the eye with a solid debut effort at Kilmore and will appreciate the rise in trip. Has a low draw and is expected to feature again. GOONDIWINDI (5) is by Australia out of White Wedding and on debut. Trialled soundly at Geelong late last month and is in good hands. Should be primed for a serious assault first-up.
SELECTIONS: Back I Am Beautiful each-way.
DOOMBEN: RACE 8 @ 5:40 PM
REBEL SALUTE (3) ran along and as expected was much too good first up at CL2 level. Jumped to this grade after and was beaten a whisker racing favourite again. Peaks now and the in-form Rodd sticks. GETYOURGREYON (1) comes out of the same race and didn't miss by far. His best would have him right in it and he's won 2/4 second-up. The wide gate is a slight query. DOLLAREURO (9) won two trials and was good first-up. He's won second-up and with weight relief and finding his best is a winning chance . ROYAL SHEEN (5) draws wide but is racing well and is in the mix. NEPTUNE'S CHOICE (6) is more than capable and resumes as a gelding. Gets a good gate and keep a close eye on the late market with him.
SELECTIONS: Backing Rebel Salute.
WARRNAMBOOL: RACE 3 @ 2:10 PM
ANDRESS (3) should be better for the run here last month when beaten as favourite. Big chance. FRANCINE (5) hashes gone ok without winning the last couple of outings as well. Measures up as a danger. HOME RULE (2) has had a short break. The form around it from that Stawell run has been pretty good and could be the value runner in this. CRACKER BELLE (4) rates well on breeding on debut. MAGNA AMOUR (6) needs to show a little more but could sneak a first four spot.
SELECTIONS: Andress the win.
GERALDTON: RACE 2 @ 1:24 PM
OUT OF FASHION (7) has just gone under the last two and keeps improving. He can race handy and is clearly rates the one to beat. MACHALI (6) is ex NSW and resumes off a heavily-bet placing at Port Macquarie. He looks good enough at best and the market will tell the tale. ROBYN'S SON (1) resumed in good order and has more to offer. The 3kg claim brings him right into it. MR ROSSI (3) led and missed a lip here two back and wasn't fancied after that and ran accordingly. May control the race and is worth another chance.
SELECTIONS: Backing Out Of Fashion to win.
GRAFTON: RACE 5 @ 4:05 PM
SETHLANS (12) was just nudged out twice at the Sunshine Coast before a luckless run there the latest. He gets a wide gate but is well-suited in country grade (and at this trip) and should be winning for the Denham barn. NISHIKORI (1) has trialled well and resumed in the city and had a torrid run. Gets the low gate, form hoop and blinkers first time, and no surprise if he makes sharp improvement. MIKADO (2) was slow away but looked in need of the first-up run. His back-form is strong and he'll race much better today. FLYING EUROS (8) has been racing well without winning and won't be far away using the rail.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Sethlans.
KINGSCOTE: RACE 2 @ 1:55 PM
MUFFLA (4) showed ability being placed in all three starts last time in and was in the market first-up when beaten 8.1 len behind Daily Spirit at Morphettville. He draws the perfect gate and looks very hard to beat. UP (8) is a former Victorian who looked pretty good winning a Gawler trial in preparation for this. She draws out but must be respected. VICARIUM (9)showed improvement in a recent Morphettville trial and has the blinkers off. KID YOU NOT (12) is a former New South Wales galloper on debut for Heather Lehman and was in the market last start at Gundagai. SHE'S DREAMING (10) made ground at massive odds at Murray Bridge at her last outing back in September.
SELECTIONS: Muffla to get the money.
